Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Add me to the list as someone who's suffering the same problem.

Mazda cx9 / iphone 8 / iOS 11.2 here. Worked once and now Disconnects and reconnects every 90 seconds or so when playing music ,Pandora, podcasts, etc . Interestingly enough I can make phone calls just fine thru the car Bluetooth link. Just not play audio

Phone pairs and works well with Jabra headphones. Seems to just be the car this problem exists with.

I've tried all the things others have.... Resetting network settings, re-pairing, etc. Seemed to me to maybe be the contact sych causing the issue so I tried disallowing contact sync when pairing but it didn't seem to matter

Hope the fix this soon very annoying used to work perfectly with my old iPhone 6s

I, too, went to the Genius Bar, and they gave me the same song and dance. The funny thing was that there was a man next to me complaining about the same problem. The Genius couldn't even establish a connection with the Beats Pill. He was able to establish a connection with another device and then told me that he could not duplicate the problem and it was probably my phone.

As soon as I got home I called Verizon and ordered a Samsung Galaxy S8+ I have had it with Apple. iTunes *****, and Apple Music leaves a lot to be desired. Worst of all, Apple still refuses to admit that there is a problem with their Bluetooth implementation with iOS 11.2. Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave.

@StevoTNR - only issues with my car but perhaps simply because I just do not use bluetooth for anything else.

On the basis my car issue appears to be fixed now, I have just ordered a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones so I will test them this weekend and report back.

Just updated to iOS 11.2.5 beta and went to check the car - guess what ....... still did bloody work. Tried the usual of deleting, repairing etc etc etc etc and still kept disconnecting and reconnnecting.

I'm having the same issue, the only I'm having the issue with my Bluetooth headphones. At first, i thought it was the headphones and went out and bought new ones, but its still happening, and is now happening in my car as well.

Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. Not so glad I bought this phone. I contacted Apple about the issue and they replaced the phone. Yeah I didn't expect much from that. I have a 2013 Ford Fusion that disconnects from Bluetooth and then reconnects like probably 2x on a 20 minute drive, my Android Wear watch disconnects all the time. My bluetooth headphones disconnect too. On 11.2.5 Beta. Kinda wish I got the Pixel 2 instead now.

Seriously, I was using iPhone 6s and before iOS 11, there are no issues with my Bluetooth devices at all. After updating to iOS 11, Android Wear disconnecting frequently and my Bluetooth headset disconnects occasionally.

Changed to iPhone X, Android Wear issue seems to be fixed but the same Bluetooth headset now disconnects frequently!

How Long has it been since iOS was released and yet Apple is still not able to fix this issue.

Such an annoying issue. I have the same problem with my iPhone 6plus. I thought it was related to my jay bird wireless ear phones so went and purchased a new pair. Problem still exits and seems to be getting worse. A real pain when you're out running and have to stop to reconnect the music. Not just once in an hour though. Happened 8 times in an hour today. Such a pain!!

I've a Genius Apple Store appointment tomorrow to see what can be done.

Since upgrading to iOS 11, I’m having the same problem connecting via BT with my UE Boom. Arghhh..... so frustrating!

It was bad enough that Apple surreptitiously sabotaged my phone’s performance ostensibly to improve battery life, but now this? I’m seriously considering abandoning Apple altogether.

Thanks :) Yes I think it was the usual “We don’t know so fob him off with compatibility issue! I tried to point out that there are so many others having the exact same issue on this site and they said “we dont have access to it and so can not see what people’s issues are!!!

Some one has messed up and even on Beta 5 there is no fix so I don’t know. I’ll hold off like you say until next full update and go from there.

I agree. I have this problem with an iPhone SE and it started right after the upgrade from iOS 10.x to 11.

This was broken by software, so it can be fixed by software. Perhaps we should make more noise so Apple hears us.

Totally agree. I'm sick of the excuses they are giving everyone. "Compatibility issue", "BT chip issues", are they forcing us to purchases new products from everyone? Why can't they see that there is an issue? Why did they say that they can't even see these posts (they don't have access they told me so they can't see who or what issues there are)

I've tested all the betas and doesn't work with anything. I troubleshooted it tI'll there's nothing more I can do..I just want to play music in my car from my phone! Is that too much to ask for?

If Apple can't see the issue posted here in their own community forums then they will definitely see people moving from iPhone to other phones soons.

This is such a silly issue that they are blaming on compatibility and what not all they have to do is review the Bluetooth connectivity related code in their iOS 11 and make sure it stays connected with whatever device we connect until we want to disconnect (just like how it used to be in iOS 10).

Seems like the creative team at iOS development became too creative - automating the Bluetooth disconnect.

Apple, we don't want this feature!

I used the feedback form in the past, even messaged them on YouTube, Apple totally ignored it.

Now it's 3rd week I use Samsung Galaxy S8 instead, and know what? Bluetooth there works perfectly 😀

Maybe the UI is not as comfortable, but at least it always works and no CPU throttling, too.

I also reported it about twenty different times when I was on the most recent Beta using their report system.

To add to my previous post, the Apple agent was very nice and was really just an intermediary between me and the technicians, but he told me the technicians told him to tell me to borrow my kids iPhone 6 when I want to play music in my car!!!!!!!!

Idiots!

Maybe someone might know someone who could report it to the press?
