Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Thanks Paulito. How they haven’t fixed it I don’t know! And from all the Apple support people I’ve spoken to over the past couple months they either don’t know or are pretending not to know.

It’s shocking how bad it is. The only time they’ve admitted a drop out on BT to me was with some Nissan cars at first release “but they haven’t heard anything since” was what they’ve told me.

Why hasn’t there been much media reports about it as I would have considered it a HUGE flaw!

Appreciate you doing the video and sending it in, hopefully someone with a brain at Apple will see it and realise the issue!

Apple released a new beta a few days ago, and now my iPhone 6 doesn't even see my speakers! The same thing happened with my daughter's iPhone 6. Apple is going from bad to worse. I'm waiting anxiously for my new Samsung Galaxy S8+

This is consistent with what I’ve figured so far! As long as I have no apps that transfer data (or in your case no apps and comms at all thru airplane mode) it seems to work! However that’s not something that I would do because ultimately, it’s my phone and I need it to be available! Apple just works is indeed slowly fading away, because now they are overly concerned with “catching up” with the great number of features and gimmicks from other phones and this is what Steve Jobs always said they SHOULD NOT DO! If they don’t wake up and continue on their own path, pretty soon they will end up where they were when they first fired Jobs!

I am having the same issue and in typical Apple fashion they are convinced my backup is corrupt which is total BS. Not only does Bluetooth not stay connected but my Siri doesn’t work at all. I set the phone up from new and still the same problem. My GF’s 8 plus has no issues but mine does but they still take zero responsibility for this lemon phone I have. Very disappointed. I will wait a year before I buy another one of their new phones they don’t have it together launching new products anymore. They get it right after about the 5th update. Sad!

IOS 11.2.2 still no improvement to this issue at all. Guess Apple is ignoring this issue and it is going to stay this way. Unless Apple offically acknowledge and has a response to this issue soon, i guess another lawsuit is on its way.

11.2.5 beta never worked as a fix - I wonder if the final release of 11.2.5 today will fix it. Will check the car tomorrow.

If anyone’s updated and checked if it’s fixed their issue then do let us know :)

I've just bought a iPhone 8 plus. All very nice until I try to connect to anything via Bluetooth.

Nothing.. absolutely nothing... can't see any other devices apart from one brief glimpse of some devices early on. Just the spinning circle. Tried the network reset / changing the phones name etc.

Probably going to have to return it as this is ludicrous for a brand new £800 phone. (My previous 5 was rock solid in many ways)

For what it's worth, I have had zero BT issues with an iPhone 8 and X in a 2011 Toyota and several 2017 Hertz rental cars so the issues are not universal.

No it's not a general issue; my BT devices stay connected as long as I want.

There is something unique to some environments or configurations causing this, but it is not a universal issue with iOS 11 or any of the devices you list.

It could be environmental or it could be the remote devices, but to blame iOS 11 in general is counter to frankly most users' experiences.

If you want help narrowing it down, I and/or other users here would be happy to help.

Don't misunderstand, it could be a bug in iOS 11, but it isn't happening to everyone.

If tens of thousands are having issues that's pretty good considering millions of these devices were sold last quarter.

All I'm trying to say is there are exacerbating factors, as most owners have no issues whatsoever with Bluetooth.

It's great to know Apple engineering is investigating, as they are the only ones who can conclusively say what is happening.

Considering the Samsung had sold millions of Note 7 and only a number of users had their batteries exploded does that mean there was nothing wrong with the Note 7 itself?

Yeah but this kind of stuff should not happen. The Is the second I phone I have bought that has Bluetooth issues. The 7 plus did the same thing them they sent out an update 6 months later that fixed it. They need to get it together. Ridiculous for a phone that cost this much money. The engineers need to roll them thinner while at work and get it together.

I saw those articles last year. It seems many of those issues are remedied. I've had the XL for a week now and battery is better than my 6s (age obviously was a issue) and amazingly, BLUETOOTH WORKS!!!! Take that Apple.

I do reserve the right to come groveling back but so far, so good.

If it works out for you, I'm happy for you; as I said I have certainly had zero issues with Bluetooth so it's a matter of using whatever works best in your environment, iPhone, Android or a land line with a really, really long cord. 😁

still struggling with same issue: disconnected BT connection. Installed parrot ck3100 carkit in my car, and does not disconnect but does not synchronize contacts. Lost half a day on this.

suggest we all send mail to successor of Steve Jobs. a Quick google search will provide address.

Any other suggestion?
