Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Since I upgraded to OS11 my iPhone 6 keeps disconnecting from the Bluetooth in my car, a Mazda 6 2015 vintage. To reconnect I have to select the phone on my cars infotainment unit and off it goes working for a while longer until it again disconnects mid song. This didn’t occur prior to OS11, any ideas?

Hello Sean,

Thank you for the response. I have no trouble connecting and I am not playing with any settings , just driving listening to my iTunes library when suddenly I get a message that my Bluetooth connection is lost. All I need do is deselect the connection on my car system and I’m away again. Very annoying as it was fine before OS11.

Bluetooth, modems and routers all have one thing in common: the firmware is what governs the communication protocols. When I installed iOS 11.0.3, the first thing I noticed was that the firmware was being updated. This is where the problem is.

Complicating matters further, I have noticed a slew of bugs in texting, iTunes and the weather app. In other words, this is the worst iOS release in Apple's history. It will be a while before Apple sorts everything out, and hopefully the next version will sport new and better features, and, of course, all bugs will be fixed.

Let's get it on, Apple. The longer you wait, the further your stocks tank.

Same issue here. Tested all the iOS updates hoping for a fix. Now it’s on iOS 11.0.3 connected to Mazda 6. I’ve reset everting to factory both phone and infotainment system. Unpaired and paired Bluetooth to no avail. Here’s the dump from the iPhone logs (excluding Binary images section):

I went ahead and bought a new bluetooth fm transmitter, and it seems to be working properly. The one I use now is an anker roav with 4.2 bluetooth. My other transmitter is a Nulaxy KM20 bluetooth 3.0. The only difference I've noticed is when pairing is that with my Nulaxy KM20 the iPhone asks if I want to share contacts, which is very strange since there's no need for that, it hasn't made a difference whether I allow or not the permission. With the Anker transmitter when I pair, I don't get asked for such a permission. I've also noticed that with a 3.0 bluetooth headset I have, it has no issues and I don't get asked for sharing contacts, not sure if there's a connection there.

My BT (iPhone 7) constantly and regularly (every 90 seconds) disconnects in my '16 BMW 435. Has only been since I did the update to IOS 11.0.3; never before. Have tried most of the suggestions and the problem either comes back or never stops, depending on what I try.

Oddly, I have no problems with my Apple Watch or Bose wireless headphones.

What gets my goat the most is that Apple refuses to acknowledge that there is an enormous problem with iOS 11.0.3, and that thousands of users are effected by this horrible release. They give no indication as to when there will be a fix. Their complete silence is like a slap in the face to all Apple users who paid more than $1,000.00 for a phone that simply doesn't work.

Bluetooth is part of their core technology, and that is the biggest bug. And it's not the only one either. I have found four persistent bugs that make my life miserable. Let's see if Apple recovers from this blunder.

Hello Everyone,

I am an Apple fan but they are making it very hard for me to keep the faith. i have tried all suggestions and I still have the issue. My blue Tooth disconnects and then reconnects again and I have to re-select the option to continue. As mentioned previously the option doesn't appear to disconnect if only the phone is connected, it is when I am streaming music via blue Tooth the disconnect occurs. What really annoys me is you can't really get help other than self-help such as this forum. Apple don't appear to list issues they are having so I can't tell if I am alone (Clearly not with this post). I would be happy to know that there officially was a problem with Blue tooth, I would then check from time to time to see if there is a firmware update. If they disagreed there was a problem I would then move on to my car manufacturer but the problem started with the iOS update so I start here. This is really starting to feel like the company has a problem with communication. It is so unnecessary as it is likely we are all Apple fans but are starting to lose our faith. Please Apple swallow your pride and post current issues and the progress made on addressing them, I for one would respect this approach.

Kind Regards,

Pathfinderoz

I believe this is a bluetooth power management issue in iOS 11+. I watched 2 episodes of a show and it didn't disconnect from my earbuds. I stopped playing the videos in that app and looked at my facebook feed and my earbuds told me they'd lost connection. I played a video in facebook and it played through my phone speakers then my earbuds reconnected.
