Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Since I upgraded to OS11 my iPhone 6 keeps disconnecting from the Bluetooth in my car, a Mazda 6 2015 vintage. To reconnect I have to select the phone on my cars infotainment unit and off it goes working for a while longer until it again disconnects mid song. This didn’t occur prior to OS11, any ideas?

This idea of a power management issue has echoes of my experience too. As I said before, my connection never dropped mid-call. It only connects/disconnects when it is sitting idle so to speak. I did try my phone both powered and not powered though while in the car which made no difference.

As a slight update in my case, I contacted Apple support direct last week. Gave them this thread link and the support chat confirmed to me they are not able to access the threads directly from support- so I copied my entire problem post into the chat session. The chat confirmed I was not the first person to seek help for similar reasons that day and my case was 'escalated' to a phone call. The usual questions later, a remote support session was established with my phone ( new one on me ) where analytic details from the phone were collected by Apple while I was connected to wifi. The slightly disappointing end to this wizardry was that I should factory reset the phone using itunes which I have duly done. The assistant advised that the conclusion to the analytics was only that hardware was not at fault. Unfortunately I'm away on business and cannot try it out in my car or any other device.

Come you clever engineers; you've had bluetooth working before!

I was feeling hopeful about a solution since some of you are saying you don't have problems after the update but I updated to 11.1 yesterday and unfortunately, I still have connectivity issues in my car. This is only happening in my car. All other devices don't disconnect like this.

Waiting for next update to truly fix this for me. 😢

Same for me. 11.1 does not fix the issue for me with my car as well. The difference now is that disconnecting is much more random. It could be within seconds of connecting, or it could be minutes. Longest connection I have had was about 5 minutes. Shortest was about 2 or 3 seconds after connecting. Connecting seems to happen within a second or two of disconnecting, which is an improvement over what it used to be. Sometimes it could take a minute or more to connect again after disconnecting.

Okay, don't want to jinx anything...

I noticed that my FitBit Charge HR was also connected by Bluetooth whenever I turned Bluetooth on. So I was connected to two devices - my speakers/headphones/car and the Fitbit.

I couldn't disconnect Fitbit, so I clicked "Forget device" instead. Almost two hours later, no disconnect.

There's still an issue, because this essentially means I can't use my Fitbit. But right now, I'm enjoying listening to music without constant disconnects.

This is crazy. Is there somebody at cupertino who can read these posts and solve the problem? My iphone 6s since upgraded to ios11 works as cheap chinesse toy with my Audi bluetooth - connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect.

I am really disappointed and expecting update which will solve this problem!!!!!

or should I go to samsung store.... please advise

Well I got tired of this problem. Can't use my phone for work, so I pulled out an older 16GB Google Nexus 5X from my spare phone collection. It updated to the latest Android Oreo (8.0). Actually quite pleased with it (over my iPhone 8 Plus; 256GB) and may continue to use it for quite a while longer even after Apple fixes this problem. Go figure... $200 current phone vs $1000 iPhone.

I have a 2015 Lexus and my iPhone 6+ has had a rock solid connection to Bluetooth. After upgrading to iOS 11 every 20 to 35 minutes the phone disconnects and reconnects. It does the exact same thing on my 2015 Toyota Camry and our 2010 Sequoia. I have deleted the phones in the car and the connections on my phone...I have reset the network settings ion my phone but it doesn’t seeem to make a difference. The disconnections are consistent.

I am seeing a lot of posts on this forum for the same

Issue. Is there a workaround. Is this big being worked on.
