Spinning wheel next to WiFi on iPhone

Same issue with iPhone 6 and Congstar.

Fixed (up to now) by pressing sleep/ wake button to switch off, waiting some minutes, pressing sleep/ wake button to switch on again.

I don't know wether it resolves the problem permanently.

Actually, best fix was... new IOS release... I entered their beta program (it's free) and now I am using successfully IOS 11.2 beta 2 or 3... last one.

No more issues with spinning wheel at all... not even after opening apps...

This time don't do a forced restart, open the Activity app, see if the wheel spins, then force close just the activity app and see if the spinning wheel stops.

Just hold down on the home button for several seconds, bringing Siri up. When you let go of the button, the wheel should stop.

Holding down the home button until Siri comes up worked for me. Probably not a permanent solution but the "spinning" is gone.

Someone else responded to this question and said that activating Siri solves the problem. I did that and it worked!

I literally opened up Siri and it went away. Hold your home button say hey siri and the spinning buffering flower disappears.

You are welcome. Version 11.1 is in beta5 as well... to solve other issues.

You can register for free as beta tester (at your own risks) as after beta5, usually you are close to final GTM release... I did personally, because it claims to improve battery life even more.

rem: I know... I did it OTA... which means that within a few updates, I will redo a clean restore ;-)

Hi my iphone 6s plus strated doing this exact same thing this morning. Read the forum tried everything others were saying to do. " FOUND A SOLUTION AND MY PHONE HAS NOT DONE IT SINCE"... go to SETTINGS, then GENERAL, then RESET, then ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS. It will only erase the phone settings etc not your personal things... hope it helps. It did for me

Not really WHY “this” fixes it but it did pronto! Go to settings, general. reset, reset NETWORK settings (you may lose wallpaper or a font or something.. I didn’t though) it closes and opens itself and voila! Totally gone and back to normal. Good luck!

Turn off all notifications.

If that doesn't fix it, set the date back to the end of November.

Restart the phone.

See if it works ok, then try setting the date to automatic again.

Go to apple showroom

Unfortunately, you will need to restore your iPhone to get rid of this bug. You don't need to go in DFU mode, simply follow the instructions in the link below!
