Make sure 1) you’re connected to a compatible HDMI input. HDMI 1.4 inputs will not work 2) Make sure deep color or UHD color is enabled for your HDMI inputs on your display. 3) There is a difference in cables. Get a new, modern hi-speed HDMI cable. There are many inexpensive options. 4) If you’re going through an AVR, you could have a myriad of issues..... you need a DV compatible AVR. Most modern 4k AVR’s will pass HDR10 however.

I have. ATV to TV directly works fine, even my HDR blu-ray player works fine thru the AVR. All cables high-speed with ethernet Amazon basics.

I've found this posting as well that I'm going to try.

I had problems with my Sony XBR and Yamaha receiver, but I finally got things working. (Besides all the other variables, these HDMI cable issues are a nightmare. I have no idea how, from looking at a cable, what version of HDMI it supports).

Anyways, here is a link to my notes on getting HDR working through my Yamaha receiver to my Sony XBR TV. Maybe they will help.

Also, see others' notes on changing Yamaha's settings. I did that too. (Need to add that to my blog entry)

The Denon website says it supports Dolby Vision, with HLG support in a future firmware update. Are you saying they're lying?

I am able to enable it at 1080p60 or 4k30, so I hope it isn't some hardware limitation, like how the scaler in the AVR can't do 4k60, just 4k30.

As Netflix is my only source for Dolby Vision content, if nothing else, maybe we'll just use the Netflix app provided by the TV.
