This is terrible, its not just smaller but in landscape mode it is missing buttons that it used to have. I sincerely hope this is a bug that will be fixed.

Yes.
I doubt it but it doesn't bother me so I never investigated.
The keyboard is being phased out. Next version is a rotary dial with stylus attached to the phone by a chain. The new “landscape” keyboard is a sick joke by somebody that needs to be fired.
Hey Apple, when donwe get the side larger keyboard back on iphone 6+ and 7+ before we dump it and go Galaxy?
