iOS 11 on iPad Pro 9.7 very slow

I got the iPad Pro 9.7 128GB for its speed and performance.

I got this device for about 60k and now on iOS 11 it feels like im using iOS 10 on iPhone 5.

it lags a lot. all the animations have a stutter. And everything takes forever to load. It’s not smooth. It is visually depressing to see a new device perform this way. Please find a way to solve this. And also please could someone else confirm if their device is performing in a similar way. I have tried hard resetting and also even restored to get the same exact results. Please help.

Other things to look at.

In Settings app, General settings panel, turn OFF Background App Refresh.

In Settings app, under General settings, Reset panel, at the right bottom of the list, Reset All Settings.

Also, in general, if you want a faster IDevice, on all of my iDevices, I turn off most of the iOS motion graphics eye candy, by simply turning ON Reduce Motion in Settings app, General, Accessibilty settings.

Make sure you aren't running scads and scads of background apps in the iOS 11 Control Panel/App Switcher.

If you are, you need to quit the bulk of these background running apps by tap and hold a finger on an app window in the switcher and slide your finger upwards to quit an app. You should be able to use more than one finger to quit more than one app simultaneously.

Also, make sure you don’t have scads and scads of active website tabs running in the web browser.

If you do, greatly reduce the amount of active website tabs your web browser.

I have tried several times. But the results are all same. On the book ibook while I move from one page to another the words just blink for a second and then fixed. You said this iPad is faste than any desktop. ON the contr it takes 5/6 seconds to open some books like University Physics while on desktop it opens with the click. 250 people have said that they got iPad Pro slow after updates but you still take any steps-this is hopeless.

Hi

im having exactly the same issue. When I first purchased my 2017 9.7” iPad a couple of months ago it worked ok and was pretty quick at responding, but now ( not sure if since latest update) it’s very sluggish and as I’m tapping the keybord, it’s as if it can’t keep up with my typing speed (and I’m not typing too fast) Also webpages are loading much slower and I seem to have to tap links much firmer or multiple times to open websites or links. Really fed up with this as these devices are not cheap!

Perform the steps in my two postings on this page

Start with my list of tips 3 posts up from yours, first.

If this doesn’t help much, see my link in the post above yours and perform any steps you haven't already tried there.

Keep in my to combine all of these performance improving tips together for best results. No one tip is a “cure all” in and of itself.

Agreed. My iPad Pro is deathly slow ..

This person claiming that there’s only 4 people having your problem is talking about the old Apple. Now people have gotten so worn out with issues they don’t even bother posting..

respect the the people on this post who are clearly frustrated with Apple ..

Gee, I see Apple has just released their SECOND fix since the release of iOS 11!

nahhhh... everything works PERFECTLY!

Really...

You know a lot of 9.7 inch iPad Pro users having issue?

You have some insight about this that you can share with the rest of us?

Hmmm?...

If EVERY 9.7 inch iPad Pro user is having issues with iOS 11, trust me, these support community forums would be THE first place users would post about ANY issues these users are having AND they would be showing up as multiple posts, IN DROVES/EN MASSE in these iPad support communities!

Oh yes, they'd be posting here for sure!

No one here is seeing any other iPad Pro 9.7 inch iOS 11 problem posts here.

There are, probably tens of thousands of 9.7 inch iPad Pro users!

Are they posting with their issues here in this post or posting new posts?

So far, only the minority users in THIS post have reported issues and THAT is IT!

I have an iPad Pro 9.7 and am not having any issues with it. I used it all week for taking notes at a conference. The one difference I'm seeing is the behavior when I tap and hold on a link to open it in a new tap. I can't describe exactly what's different but it took me about a day to feel comfortable with it again.

I never turn of BT or WiFi. I never force close apps.
