Apple Notes keeps crashing in iOS11

Hope you can help me, I appreciate your input and suggestions. FYI... I usually upgrade my iPhone every two years and upgrade to the most advanced Apple device that Apple offers. I’ve been using my current iPhone 7+ 256gb for almost a year now, with no issues. I have been using Apple Notes for many years with no issues prior to my recent upgrade to iOS11. I just upgraded to iOS 11 the day of the release and have now noticed that Notes is always crashing. I do use Notes quite extensively. After a couple a crashes, I think tried exiting Notes, it often resets itself and then crashes again. I have tried both hard and soft re-boots, but that doesn’t help... Any ideas? Thanks in advance... Rob

My problem seems to be solved. I went back and compared my most recent notes on the iPhone against the same notes in iCloud. Found about 15 that were out of sync (the iPhone version was correct since that is where I edit most of them, thus confirming what I knew before: that my sync problem was originating on the iPhone). I then copied each of the notes that were out of sync emailed them to myself, and copied and pasted them into my Mac notes app. They all synced fine through iCloud and onto my iPhone. I then went back a year to verify there were no problems with other notes. All other notes were in sync. I then turned note off on my iPhone, this deleting them from the device. I lastly turned Notes on in my iPhone. All downloaded from iCloud to my iPhone. I tested the sync process by creating a new note on my iPhone. It IMMEDIATELY synced to both iCloud and my Mac. Problem solved!

11.2.5 landed, all was great for an hour... then back to 'normal' of freezes, stutters. Tapping a note either crashes or freezes notes.

⚠😟APPLE CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!?😠⚠

Fresh iPhone x install. 2900 notes only.

There are no release notes in an iOS 11 software referring to notes fixes. I think we need more bug reports asking them to do something about this.

Maybe I just don’t use the programs as much where all this “buginness” occurs, (or just been lucky), but I haven’t experienced the problems on betas everyone warns about.

I’ve always installed them on my main (only) devices and don’t really have problems. Certainly nowhere near what I’ve experienced with the regular build like what we all have seen here. I’ve had crashes, now; don’t get me wrong. But nothing untoward or unusual compared to regular.

Sorry to say I was waiting for this comment after reading your original post, and is similar to my experience. When I got my iPhone X a couple of months ago, the Notes app worked great. It only took a week or so before the problems showed up. I'm hoping Apple will have its act together with the iOS 11 release. The Notes app is unusable in the meantime.

I’ve had this issue for almost three months now and it’s becoming untenable. I’m concerned that it’s marked as “solved” in this thread, but the “solution” is just one more complaint that this isn’t working. So I’m not sure if anyone at Apple will look at this issue.

What are some alternatives to getting Apple’s attention on something like this, aside from this useless forum system? I’m irritated that the only thing I can find about this issue thousands of “me toos” across hundreds of threads.

I migrated from Evernote because it was getting buggy and hard to use, and now I can only use Notes on my MacBook or iPad. The iPhone app is functionally and literally USELESS, as it locks up literally every time I open it.

Especially considering the chance (however remote) that they could pull it before the official release and we won’t have the fix until they decide to release. Beta releases are not suitable for everyone, despite however bug free this may seem to you, because most of us really rely on their devices. There is a reason that it is not a production release and they warn you about relying on it as if it were.

Seems to me the buggy versions of the iOS have been what we’ve been dealing with these last several months. The last several betas have been trouble free for most people, with the latest few having the benefit of actually being able to use the program that so many of us rely on. All we can make is suggestions here. If it’s not for you, that’s cool.

Thanks Dejan,

I’ve tried that fix, after a few hours or a day or so Notes returned to its unstable ways.. Keep us updated though....Let us know after a few weeks if its still stable. I believe this is an Apple Mothership issue. Some of this threads participants have said 11.3 will solve the issues and others say we will have to wait for version 12, to be released later this year. Thanks for your effort though, much appreciated.

FYI- Apple removed my post. More evidence of them hiding evidence of bad service . The reason given was that I need to contact their (useless) support team. I guess the 24+ hours I’ve spent on the phone and in chat with them isnt enough.

Horrible customer support Apple. Also, you shouldn’t be removing posts of paying customers. I’m looking for a resolution to the nonstop issues, since you guys can’t seem to help properly. What a manipulative company this has become. Not allowed to state utter frustration with nothing working anymore. Only free to ask questions but not share in depth experiences in order to see if this is a common thing. It probably is, but posts looking for resolution are deleted. It’s incredible that they’re able to take the time to remove posts, but not address ongoing issues.

I came on to read your post and was surprised it was gone. Now that's not on. If your post violated a rule then they should let you know. Always good to be transparent. I don't think anyone here would think  is perfect for there's no such company. It's how the issues are handled that makes the difference.

I can imagine the level of frustration this has given you and hope it gets better. I've had my share of troubles with  but in my personal case, they are the better of others out there as I use other platforms at work with  products at work.

I too just started having the problem. It seemed to start when I tried to use the writing portion of the notepad. When I tried to back up in something I wrote it wouldn’t then keep the new information on the screen that I scribbled. Then the app closed. I tried multiple things. I use my notes extensively for as long as I’ve had an iPhone. So I’m frustrated. I use it so often I have no desire or thought process of trying to switch to a new app to supplement. I’ve had so many quirky things happen on my phone I’ve been thinking of going away from Apple all together. They used to be top of the line. I switched from years of pc to a Mac and loved it. And I loved the iPhone with all its features. However lately I feel like I’m paying for something that is not top of the line anymore. I have no desire to pay close to a thousand dollars for something so dumb as a notepad issues. So I will be making a decision sometime between now and when I get frustrated because I can’t put something or get something from notepad.
