Video streaming issue with safari & IOS 11

Hello. Since I updated mi iPad Air wifi+3g with ios11, when streaming videos over the net, video sequences repeat themselves backward (15 seconds loop 3 or 4 times) before to keep playing the rest of the video for 5 minutes and the same issue appears again. I noticed that the timer is not accurate and acts erratically. Tried google chrome, same issue than with safari. My soon iPad Air WiFi and my wife iPad Air WiFi +3g, all os them running ios11 have the same problem. It is impossible to stream videos. Any ideas?

thanks.

Hi. This seems to be working for me.

Is this a particular site, or any site?

Does it work normally on Vimeo, say?

Have you tried restarting your devices? Power off, not just sleep. It's important to do this after an iOS update.

First thing I did. No change. It affects all streaming servers online and on all devices with iOS 11. If you can’t anymore stream contents on the web with your device, the entertainment purpose of an iPad/iPhone is seriously undermined. It is not a Safari issue. All browser have the same issue.

Same here... Updated to iOS11 today and since then all the videos I stream are looping. Doesn't matter which browser I use. Did a clear cache on Safari etc no luck.

Apple Support - Please enter this as a bug and get it fixed asap! Disappointing that you're pushing the update to people and its not been tested on something as common as Streaming Video!

Has anyone in this post sent feedback to Apple to give them a heads up about this issue?

Apple won’t become aware of this unless they receive direct feedback from its user base.

Apple designers and engineers do not read these forums. Apple supplies these forums for users to work out their product issues with other users, but these community forums ARE monitored/moderated by Apple Staff assigned to these community forums, but I do not think any info is ever passed on to who/mever the cognizant parties are who would need to know if there are any mounting issues with a product or software.

The only way to get Apple to listen to you and make them constanty aware of these issues is to use their feedback portion of their website.

Apple won’t fix these video issues unless they keep receiving constant and regular direct feedback from its user base.

You all here can send multiple feedback to Apple about your video streaming issues here.

Everyone here needs to keep hammerin’ the iPad feedback page.

Yes we did a hard reset after updating.

It seems to happen with some video streaming servers like speedvideo, Vidoza etc. All browsers we have tried have the same issue so it may have something to do with the way ios11 treats the info from streaming servers. I noticed that it includes now buttons to roll back or forward 15 seconds from a video. Could it be that the roll back button triggered itself on its own?

This is what I really do not understand from Apple. I suppose the Steve Job Think Different philosophy is gone. Instead of trying to be creative at all cost, why don't try offering a secure and pleasant experience? Video streaming issues in 2017? No joke! Maybe time to try other platform. Even the designs (6,7,8) is "standard" and do not provide the pleasure to hold in your hand a $1000 device.

Oh and I forgot:

- constant Bluetooth and wifi disconnection

- terrible keyboard lags

Definitively the end of an era. When Apple own executive presenting a new feature live can not even make it works. And I suppose this particular device he used must have been thoroughly checked and re re re checked...

I am noticing this too with sites that had worked “for years“ without problems. Now with iOS 11 I am getting the strange behavior you are describing. Suddenly repeating scenes. Sometimes the symptom goes away after several repetitions. Or I have to reload the page and player to continue the video. Clearing the cache does not help. My iPad has been freshly setup, it was not migrated from earlier versions. I am having this on multiple devices actually. Sites: ardmediathek.de, zdf.de, the official GermanTV media libraries.
