Video streaming issue with safari & IOS 11

This a followup to my response several months ago.

The issue seems much less severe in recent weeks regarding the video on sites that I frequent—so much so that I now consider this a non issue on all my devices running iOS 11.3.1. IPhone X, iPad Air, all pretty OK. I say “pretty OK” because while I do get the occasional video stutter-replay, the video no longer gets totally stuck like a broken record, and even the stutters are very infrequent—could even be a brief connection issue.

I‘m guessing, but I suspect that the issue might have been a video encoding update issue on the part of the content providers where I previously experienced the epic fail playback. Not sure. But I’d really like to know if others are experiencing the same kind of improvement I described.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 7 , its not something you can tolerate, so please apple do something,

I am having this issue on my iPhone SE and my wife’s iPhone 7 Plus.

I thought it was just on the website where I watch. Didn’t try to search about it until now.

Please fix.

I have the same problem. The Videostream ist going in loop mode after watching for a while. The Loop contains the last 3-4 seconds of the stream when it occurs. I have it with the Apps Plex, Dailymotion, YouTube and Safari. iPad pro. iOS 11.01. :(

I’m on iPhone 7 and also find videos stop after a few minutes, the screen goes black, and no audio. What happened to Apple’s “it just works” philosophy? The PBS NewsHour is one site where the issue is easily repeated. Try viewing any full episode. On Windows 10, these videos play with no issues.

Just updated in the last week and having same problem. Wish I'd never updated. I mostly use my iPad to stream tv shows and movies and it's getting really irritating. At first I thought it must be my internet connection but then found this thread.

Can't believe Apple hasn't fixed this yet, it's shockingly bad service.

Same here / iphonex / 11.2.2 / youtube and safari is where the problem is. Note: also happening on my imac2017.

Incredibly frustrating. Apple really needs to fix this asap.

Apple is slipping.... these faults where the kind of thing mac users used to poke fun at pc users for.

The sad thing is that they were all excited about updating the old player to this new one that don't work on any browser.

you think with the 7 updates that they would have released a fix for it in one of them. Maybe in iOS 11.3 the 8th update will have a fix. If not I think I'm done with apple for a while if I wanted an os that didn't work I would have stayed with android. Now my friends have all switched back to the galaxy 8 and say it's great and if there's no fix I may have to do the same at least till Apple gets their crap together. Maybe the iPhone 11 and iOS12.

Someone in an earlier thread said that Apple monitors the discussions, but doesn't respond to any parts of it. Sorry you're still having problems with the video. I have absolutely no idea why it suddenly started working for me.

So let me get this right. This problem was first reported 8 months ago, over 2000 people have now reported it, but there is still no fix, and worse still, no acknowledgement of the problem from Apple, yet alone a target date for a fix? I’m flabbergasted. I thought the problems i was having were due to my 4year old ipad air, which has just given up the ghost. Having shelled out £319 for a brand new 2018 model i’m not happy that i still have the same problem.

I have a problem streaming too. It replays, lags and even completely stops playing randomly. I can’t watch anything streaming on the web. It’s so frustra
