Video streaming issue with safari & IOS 11

I am from Kuwait , my internet speed over 5 mb , i have a same probelm in my ipad pro woth ios 11.2 , if i want to see a vedio with 60 minites , it takes from me 90 minutes !!! Only in mu ipad , but in the laptop it is ok

All my apple device (iPhone X, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6SE, iPad Pro 12.9, iPad 2 and iPad Mini) are useless for video streaming (live TV streams and download streams). I use now a Surface Pro or a cheap dirty Android device (which I got from my provider fro free after complaining) to watch video streams. iOS 11 devices constantly stop playback (after a few minutes) or fall in endless video loops (play a minute and then stop, lopp back 4 secs, play again for 5 secs, go back 4 secs aso). I waited out all the updates for iOS 11 and I reset network settings, but still no improvement so I decided to wirte here. I could manage to revert my iPad Mini to iOS 10 and it works fine again.

Hi Tudie, I did this quite early after the first problems and after the first fixes didn't improve the problems. I downloaded the file to do this from the German MACLIFE http://www.maclife.de/ratgeber/downgrade-kehren-ios-11-zurueck-ios-1033-10096002 .html, but it also says that apple does only allow going back to previous OSs until after a short time. Maybe it is still possible. Sure there are also English language pages showing how to do this. Basically you download the respective (original apple) iOS10 file via PC or MAC and then use iTunes to downgrade the apple device with that file. Only make sure that you have the correct file fitting to that device. All the best from Japan. Uwe

I want to give Apple the benefit of doubt they’re working on resolving this issue, but after their shadiness with other issues (Battery) with older Apple devices and the 11 update to get consumers to buy the lastest Apple devices I don’t trust them.

Hopefully they will prove me wrong.

I have an IPhone 6 S Plus. The “TV App” is horrible. It was fast for the first two weeks streaming. Now it’s choppy and slow. Says I don’t have enough storage but then I checked my storage and it says I have more than enough. I just got this thing.

seems to be related to wifi connection quality/speed. Before iOS11 video playback switches stream quality automatically, but it seem to be broken in iOS11. Videos are played in near best quality and any wifi slowdown causes video loop/freeze instead auto quality switch.

Has anyone here bothered to try another third party iOS web browser, other than Safari?

Perfect Web browser?

Aloha Web browser?

Any issues with embedded videos in these browsers?

I use Firefox and Perfect web browser and, also have iCab.

Someone post a link of a website with an embedded video that I can, at least, check these browsers for issues with embedded video content.

This conversation is surely be monitored. I was very frank about my feelings torwards Aple because I cant use any of my 5 device anymore afetr upgrading to iOS11 (which is not true because IhopneX had it already installed)... streaming wont work evenm after the latest upgrade. So as I say I was maybe too frank and wrote in German so my posyt got deleted.

Problem solved for me too after I went from 11.1.2 to 11.2.2. Videos don’t repeat anymore. But it took a few days after the update. I hope it eventually works out for everyone yone. Don’t update if everything’s working fine !!

One hint is that I'm on a DSL (3 megabit) connection. If Apple's trying to duplicate, this might help.

Same issue here on my iPad Air. Apple needs to get this issue fixed ASAP. This has crippled all my video streaming since ISO 11 update.

Will be awhile before I trust another Apple update.

Have to agree. I’ve got a Asus Transformer that I’ve had for years that I’m using now to stream because I’m so fed up with this latest update for my iPad.
