Video streaming issue with safari & IOS 11

Hello. Since I updated mi iPad Air wifi+3g with ios11, when streaming videos over the net, video sequences repeat themselves backward (15 seconds loop 3 or 4 times) before to keep playing the rest of the video for 5 minutes and the same issue appears again. I noticed that the timer is not accurate and acts erratically. Tried google chrome, same issue than with safari. My soon iPad Air WiFi and my wife iPad Air WiFi +3g, all os them running ios11 have the same problem. It is impossible to stream videos. Any ideas?

Thank you Tudie 27 ! I downloaded the Aloha app from the App Store and it did indeed solve the problem. Tested it with a few embedded videos over the weekend and found no more issues. It looks like the Aloha app uses a different videoplayer (not QuickTime). Because other web browsers like Firefox use the same videoplayer as Safari they all suffer from the same issue since the iOS 11 update.

I use my iPad for video quite a lot as well. I agree with you that iOS 11 has been a major disappointment. I have two other iOS devices that still run iOS 10.3.3 (because they can’t be updated to iOS 11) and they have no problems at all with video streaming in Safari.

What is even more disappointing is that Apple hasn’t done anything to address this two months after iOS 11 was released. There must be millions of people who are experiencing the same problem and Apple just doesn’t seem to care.

I've updated to 11.2.5 but I am still having the same issue. Is Apple aware of this issue? I hope they can fix it with the next update.

Same issue here, and this is version 11.2.6 and no fix for it, you should do something, I can’t hold it anymore :(

This is my first time to use iPhone and unfortunately i have the same problem you do..i regret that decision every single day..please fix that problem immediately

Still can’t stream Videos on my iPad. Can’t wait til I pay off my iphone and go android. Apple really fell off but at least they are focusing on headphones. (Thick sarcasm)

I would like to do this but did not backup before I upgraded to new op system. Very poor from Apple not to have fixed this.

I have an IPhone 6 S Plus. The “TV App” is horrible. It was fast for the first two weeks streaming. Now it’s choppy and slow. Says I don’t have enough storage but then I checked my storage and it says I have more than enough. I just got this thing.

seems to be related to wifi connection quality/speed. Before iOS11 video playback switches stream quality automatically, but it seem to be broken in iOS11. Videos are played in near best quality and any wifi slowdown causes video loop/freeze instead auto quality switch.

Has anyone here bothered to try another third party iOS web browser, other than Safari?

Chrome?

Firefox?

iCab?

Opera?

Dolphin Web browser?

Perfect Web browser?

Aloha Web browser?

Any issues with embedded videos in these browsers?

I use Firefox and Perfect web browser and, also have iCab.

Someone post a link of a website with an embedded video that I can, at least, check these browsers for issues with embedded video content.

I also downloaded aloha and started using it so far works good.

I am actually running into other problem too with sound, already got one phone replaced but new one does the same.

You can hear some popping at the end of the video Iphone 8 plus speaker problem - YouTube (it is only 10-12 sec.) dont know if apple will ever fix this because not that many people complaining
