Iphone 8 not wireless charging
I have a Chevrolet Tahoe that has a charging pad on the center console. Putting the iPhone 8 on the pad does nothing. I know the charging pad works because it charges a Samsung phone.

Check out this forum for more info on a wiring harness and part numbers. There is a user by the name of “pgamboa” who may be working on one or be able to get you the part numbers from mouser to make one. I did read that one user was able to use the same plug and “persuade” it to fit on the 2018 module. Not sure I would like that idea though.
That Mouser part number shows a six pin connector, I thought the stock '17 had four wires and the '18 module had three wires? Is the six pin connector correct? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity/2035363-4/?qs=%2fha2pyFaduj sv0BX5qvI3hsZP6d61IEy9RzAsNkTFU%252b3wN2…
Another option to solve the problem is the Brandmotion universal Qi wireless charging kit FDMC-1210 that can be used to retrofit 2016-17 GM vehicles. The Qi module from the kit can replace the GM module to make the system work.
Does the Brandmotion Qi option show the device charging on screen of the infotainment system? In my case, the phone is hidden away in a cubby. The only way to know if its charging is the onscreen indicator on in the infotainment systems screen.
I have a 2016 GM SUV. The factory wireless charger will not work with the iPhone 8, but you can replace it with the 2018 model year charging unit and then it works great. The new unit is the same size and screws into the console lid just like the original. The only thing you have to do is shave a little of the plastic off the end of the wiring plug to make it fit the new unit because the plugs are not quite the same. The back of the console lid is held in by clips. Simply pry the back off to access the charger. The whole process took me less than half an hour. The cost of the charger from GM was $160.
Brandmotion has a solution to this issue, and is very easy to install. It uses the factory plug and does not require splicing wires. See the link below:

The vehicle owner's manual says it supports "Qi" charging which is what Apple uses. The 8 fits perfectly in the pad. Agreed the 8 plus does not.
someone know if the iphone 8 + can charged with the samsung galaxy S8 Fast Charge Wireless Charging?

Yes it can. That's what US Cellular sells you.
Really? You expect Apple to make sure their sales people know every make and model of car that will or will not wirelessly charge an iPhone? That's absurd.
The 2018 works with iPhone it’s Qi compatable.
The 2017 and earlier are not... I personally tested this.
THE QUESTION IS can we swap the coil under the console OR swap the lids?
If you're asking me, I couldn't possibly know. This is 100% a GM issue, caused by GM and can likely only be addressed by GM.

On the phone? No. On the vehicle? That's something you should ask your dealer/mechanic.
Is GM doing anything to correct the issue?
