Iphone 8 not wireless charging
I have a Chevrolet Tahoe that has a charging pad on the center console. Putting the iPhone 8 on the pad does nothing. I know the charging pad works because it charges a Samsung phone.

I posted this same message on another forum about wireless charging, but seeing I started this thread, I figured I would update it to. Sooooo....
So after messing around with this forever, I think I finally have it working. I have a 2017 Denali HD that came with the wireless charger that wouldn't work with my iPhone 8. I ordered the wireless charger module for a 2018 Denali HD part number 13521066 from needgmparts.com. It was 97.65 plus shipping. The new charger module has a different plug but uses the same 3 wires. I ordered the new plug from Mouser electronics part number 571-2035363-4 . It cost 71 cents. I easily unpinned the old connector. When installing the new connector, the pins on the wires had a little "nub" sticking out on one side that wouldn't allow me to slide it into the new connector. I took a small pliers and just squeezed these "nubs" down so they were flush. The pins then slid in easily and clicked in place securely. Plugged the new wireless module in and put the lid for the center console back together and it seems to be working the way it should now. Little green lightning bolt shows up on the screen when phone is on the charge pad. I can pick the phone up, set it back down and it starts charging again immediately. It's not really that finicky about where it is on the pad.
If you're asking me, I couldn't possibly know. This is 100% a GM issue, caused by GM and can likely only be addressed by GM.
Is GM doing anything to correct the issue?
2018 models work out the door - at least it did this morning with my X in a 2018 Sierra. I have a service appt tomorrow to see if their tech can get it to work with my X on my 2017.
I tried to explain this months ago and apparently the answer I gave was not well received 😁
Hopefully your post will clarify the cause of this problem. Thank you Rick!
Was this the fix you used? Simply removing the "repeater" and it worked for you? Seems easy enough

Thanks. I have created an account and commented on the thread. I have ordered my replacement module and connector.....now I wait.
Perfect, thanks for the info. You can save about $5 in free shipping even though the part is a little more expensive. https://www.gmpartsdirect.co/oem-parts/gm-f-module-13521066
I am going to do this on my 2016 Yukon Denali. What tool did you use to unpin the old connector? I see there are some GM specific picks available or can it be done with a generic pick?
I used a generic pick I had. I’ve seen videos where people used a bent staple to do it. Definitely don’t need any special tool.
That’s a great solution for iPhones 7 and below not for the new 8 and X. They have built in charging that should work with Gmc
