Hi!
When I write an URL in TextEdit, it becomes a clickable link when I insert a space after the address.
However, this is not the case in Mail and Notes. How can I fix this?

They should become clickable once you close (dismiss) the keyboard. Otherwise, they remain in editable form.
For Me it was On in Notes whereas in High Sierra and Mail it was off.
What do you mean by: "[...] in High Sierra [...] it was off"?

The links are now active. But I can't click them in Mail!
In the To field you have to type the mail address of the person whom you are about to send the mail and in From field your mail address is saved , so the link should be not saved in these fields .
Why should links work in mail compose window when they are saved , just for security issue ( just a thought ) they will only work when mail is sent forever .

Create a checkmark in Smart links .
