Do Not Disturb Turning Itself On

Ever since I have updated my phone to iOS 11, Do Not Disturb keeps randomly turning itself on for my iPhone 7 (and as a result on my Apple Watch, too). At first I thought maybe it was because DND While Driving was set to Bluetooth and that when my phone was connecting to Bluetooth devices in my home it would mistakingly think I was in a car. However, I have since turned DND While Driving to Manual and the issue persists. I've also checked the DND schedule that I have set (and have had set for as long as that feature was added to iOS) and nothing has changed there. To make sure that wasn't the issue, I turned it off all together and the issue persists at random multiple times throughout the day (which is a major problem for me since I'm a Realtor and am missing calls).

Anyone else having this issue, or have any ideas how to address this?

It's been a week since I did the following and my Watch has not mysteriously gone into Do Not Disturb mode once. Could be just random, dumb luck. Or maybe...

1. Turn off Do Not Disturb on iPhone.

2. Turn off "Mirror iPhone" setting in Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

3. HARD restart your iPhone. (Simultaneously hold down power and home buttons. Wait till screen goes black. Keep holding those two buttons. When Apple Logo appears let go of buttons and wait for iPhone restart. The procedure is different for iPhone X.)

4. HARD restart your Apple Watch. (Simultaneously hold down both side buttons until Watch screen goes black and then Apple Logo appears. Let go of buttons. Wait for the Apple Watch to restart.)

5. Turn on Do Not Disturb on your iPhone. For good measure, I changed the scheduled on and off times for Do Not Disturb by just a little bit compared to the times I had before performing Step 1.

6. Turn on "Mirror iPhone" setting in Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

Hi - can you post the steps again to stop iPhone 6 from going in DND mode by itself?

I understand from your post that Do Not Disturb is turning on by itself. With the troubleshooting you have already completed, restarting, backing up, and reinstalling your iPhone software may help. The following articles have the steps to restart, backup and reinstall the software on your iPhone:

By using the steps as listed from the following article you can reinstall the software on your iPhone:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again

Make sure that you're using the latest version of iTunes.

If iTunes is already open, close it. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.

While your device is connected, force restart it with these steps:

On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.

When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Wait while iTunes downloads the software for your device. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits recovery mode, let the download finish, then repeat these steps.

After the Update or Restore completes, set up your device.

Hi Sherman1710,

Do you have "Do not disturb while driving" turned on? Just curious.

As a potential workaround, did you try intentionally scheduling "Do not Disturb" for a time period that would not be problematic...such as 3:00-3:15 AM?
