External monitor problem iMac 2017 High Sierra.

I try to connect a Samsung external monitor to my new 2017 iMac, but the monitor isn´t being recognized. I used the same monitor with my 2012 Mac mini and it all worked fine (even with two monitors).

I use a new USB – C 3.1 to DVI adaptor, but my iMac isn´t recognizing my Samsung monitor.

I have just updated to Mac OS High Sierra and it still doesn´t work (it didn`t work with Mac OS Sierra either).

And yes, I have opened up system preferences and Displays. Using my Mac mini, the Samsung display showed up in preferences.

Searching the net, it seem to be a problem for many people, but I cannot find a solution.

Any suggestions?

Hi RashDK,

You should be able to resolve the issue by just updating your DisplayLink driver. All external video adaptors (usb2hdmi/usb2vga/etc..) share the same driver.

They have an updated driver for High Sierra which fixed the same issue I had as the others in this thread.

I have the same problem, with two cinema displays connect it to my MacBook Pro with USB to DVI adapter and after upgrading to High Sierra, only one display is working, did you find some solution?

That’s odd. I checked right away for it and although I’m running an earlier version no updates are available to me. Based on the other post I’ll keep checking

I have tried every solution suggested here and none work. Frustrating is that i have called APple twice and the answer is that they have never heard about this before.

installing the displaylink driver definitely didn't work for me.

oh, not to mention the kiwi bird isn't available on amazon in the united states- doesn't appear to be available anywhere in the states. bummer.

Same issue.

2012 iMac and HP Pavilion 22xi connected via thunderbolt-cdmi adaptor.

The external display worked well with Sierra... until I upgraded to High Sierra... no signal at all.

Mines the desktop (Mac Pro) so the computer and monitor are separate). Maybe someone smart can help to apply this to iMac if you mean attached rather than external monitor
