IOS 11 Keyboard lag

Yep good move, also looking for an alternative Android smartphone, enough is enough...........from iPone 4 to iPhone 6 been supporting the Apple business for years..........even my patience has run out............no need to waste my time on Apple iPhone forums any further............good luck folks.............

I too, have the problem of very laggy keyboard and apps occasionally taking 6 to 10 seconds to open after selecting them after upgrading to iOS 11. Sometimes when I start entering text, the first TWO characters will be auto-capitalized because of the lag. Both issues are very bad and cause me great delay and headaches. Please fix this, Apple!

I too have this issue. After having used iPhone since the first one, one aspect that kept me from switching to android had been how solid the iOS platform was. This iOS 11 is the version with the most bugs I’ve ever seen. Not only the keyboard freezing when typing anything but the prediction tool is nuts. My iPhone 6 was barely usable in iOS 10 but on 11 is a mess. I type real fast and it took me about 10 minutes to type this message. Very disappointed at Apple in general...

That sounds like an awful solution. I’m moving alsocbronchisoans (*** I wrote also ) to Samsung. Does anyone know I they work ok with a MacBook ? Could I download safari on a Samsung and keep my keychain ?

Well I’m now on iOS 11.2 and if any thing it is worse. I’m actually stuck in hospital with heart failure and all Apple want me to do is plug my iPad into my iMac to restore it, whIch I obviously can’t do. My iPad is almost unusable and my only link with the outside word is my iPad and I was reliant on it. .......I’m afraid that Apple have lost their trusted brand status with me now, when I needed reliability and quality they have let me down with their self generated iOS11 **** up. I can’t see me favouring a Apple product again in the future. Apple seem to have lost their way and their products appear not to be as good as their competitors. Apple don’t seem to understand why I don’t want to install a third party keyboard, or delete my iCloud data, or turn off predictive text etc. What I want is for the product that I’ve paid good money for to work as it should. Is that too much to ask?

Exact same issue here as well. There’s a major lag since upgrading iOS 11. When I open messages I have to wait before I type or else all key strokes queue up and blast out once the OS allows typing to function. Please fix this issue it’s really cumbersome and annoying now. Wish I hadn’t upgraded at all

Yeah I have iPhone 7 and this keyboard thing is driving me crazy. I restarted, I installed a different keyboard, turned a bunch of stuff off. I really don’t wanna restore and try again but it’s driving me so crazy I may need to. Please release a bug fix

IVE been in contact with the support team since september and they really dont know what to do, i even have to buu a new battery cuz they told me that battery was slowing down the system, LIES!

Best option is to move to note8 o galaxyS8 and never trust in apple, they slow down devices everytime for us to forcw migrate

I’ve also done this however it hasn’t corrected the issue. I’ve tried to restore back to iOS 10 but this also fails. Not sure what to do from here but I’m completely unsatisfied with Apple these days. It’s a shame

How are you? I also have this problem. However, it seems to be worse in the morning than it is in the evening. It also seems really touchy and will double type letters, numbers, space, etc. I turned my iPad Air 2 off and on which helped some but the problem hasn’t gone away. It is obvious from the posts that this has been an issue for quite awhile. When is Apple going to fix it?

Same problem. IPhone 6 with A LOT OF LAG since upgrading to iOs11. Made a backup, restored, reinstalled, and still the lag persists. It's really annoying and I'm loosing my confidence in this company.

I am having the same problem. I had to ores 6 times to engage the “me too” box! Also, to hit “reply.” Very annoying. I spent over $1300 on this iPhone X and there are SEVERAL features that are pretty sucky. Steve Jobs never would have let it, or the Airpids, our the door! Think I’m going to dump my stock. I hate writing bad things because I have the stock but there’s a reason it’s not valuing well right now.

Unfortunately, your suggested workaround didn't seem to change anything on my iPhone 7 running iOS 11.2.6, the texting is still delayed, and so is swiping from screen to screen... tasks are sluggish.

Ok, at the suggestion of many people on here, I bought a used iphone 6s (2 gig of ram, 128 gig ($225) and now the phone runs as fast as my iphone 6 did on ios 9, actually it's much QUICKER! Unreal. What crazy is, iphone 6 has 1 gig of ram, iphone 6s has 2 gig, iphone 7 2 gig, iphone 8 2 gig, and iphone x has 3 gig. All the difference was in the ram! Also, 6s adds 3D touch, and adds the raise to wake feature, not on the 6, that works great with "hey siri".

So, if you have an iphone 6 on ios 11, get a used iphone 6s for cheap and the phone will FLY!

(some things I noticed with the 6s vs 6 is the vibrate isn't as strong, I'm assuming apple may have changed the vibration to be less than the 6, which was crazy loud)
