Receiving messages on my Mac are now extremely delayed since installing High Sierra. They will show up on my iPhone, but without a notification so I can't see or hear it. Then several minutes later it will pop up on the Mac. I didn't have this issue with Sierra, and would rather not downgrade. Anybody else with this issue or suggestions on how to fix this?

This is exactly what I am experiencing. When I am sitting at my Mac and a message comes through on my iPhone, it will take 20+ min to show up on my Mac. If, however I send a reply, the message will show up on the Mac, then the reply.
I've had a message show up on my phones and watch (at the same time) today, and then over 2 hours later it appeared on my Mac, which has been on and active all day. It's been doing this a lot recently. Also not actually sending messages until ages after I've typed and sent them.
Anyone try any of the current betas for macOS High Sierra 10.13.1? I'm curious to try the current beta 5 to see if this has been fixed. I'm not a fan of running beta's but maybe worth trying. Maybe even beta's of iOS and WatchOS?
I am having this exact same issue and wonder whether the version of iOS matters. I upgraded to High Sierra on my Mac, but have chosen for performance reasons to leave my iPhone 6 on iOS 10. I wonder, though, if the combination of iOS10 and High Sierra is part of the problem? Or are you all seeing this with iOS 11 as well?
This issue that I was having seems to be fixed now, at least in my situation. It must have been a server issue or something, because I've done nothing further to fix it. Just curious if anybody else is seeing this as well.
I am having the same problem, I have 2 iMacs and an iPhone X (My iPhone and my macs are all on the latest version of the software.) and the message sync is extremely delayed since updating to High Sierra, with some messages not showing up at all.
I am also having this issue! The messages show up on my computer but without proper notification. It's very frustrating! My OS is up to date, I restarted my computer and tried disabling location services as others had suggested. What's the solution? If anyone knows please tell me!
I also have High Sierra, and Messages app is months without updating any activity. Since November. I was in the app just now and two new messages came through right then. But no other active messages that are still on my phone will show up.

If the "sync" between devices gets broken and is not happening and is not solved in a time frame then the devices will not "catch up" later.
They will act not a new device has been added and only "sync" from that point onwards.

My Wife and I both experience this issue. After reading this thread and attempting all fixes, it's still prevalent on both our laptops and cellular Iphone devices. I am assuming others are still experiencing this issue?

I’ll keep troubleshooting but thanks for the response. I appreciate it. It doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem as I haven’t found anything on this forum or several others about it.
I'm having the same problem. While signing into this forum, there was a delay in the two-factor alert arriving between my iPhone and MBP.
I haven't seen extreme delays, though it was slow during the aftermath of the hurricanes, presumably due to a lot of traffic related to said storms.
