Safari now does NOT delete cookies

MacOs HS is not deleting cookies in Safari preferences....

First the options for cookies have changed, you only now have the option to block all (as opposed to allow from sites visited etc.) Obviously not going to block all as would never get around the net! Only other choice I assume is to allow all?

Go to manage website data and there's about 20 cookies there that appear to delete.... but if you wait for say 5 seconds they all magically re-appear.

Have I missed a setting somewhere??

Cheers

You don't have to deliberately visit a website in Safari for cookies and website data to populate. They can also arise from Top Sites, Safari Notifications, Search Engine Suggestions, subscribed feeds and shared links.

As long as that list is, there are probably more sources I can't think of off the top of my head right now. I suggest trying "block all cookies" and determine what happens for your particular activity. That's how I derived that list.

John that's great thank you.... sorry in my rush to tick as solved I ticked my own reply instead of yours and can't undo! I didn't get any "points" but you deserve some so had to only give a helpful instead.....

Do you happen to know if you don't tick "block cookies" will all sorts of sites now be able to give them, even sites I don't visit?

Thanks again.
