iOS 11 podcast autoplay

I have switched to podcruncher. It’s not free, but it does play my podcasts continuously.

Give up, folks. Have downloaded Overcast and love it. Apple can go scr*w themselves. Best of luck to the developers of Overcast, they're lifesavers.

Or take 20 seconds and download Overcast! 🙂 Problem solved, never go near Apple podcasts again. Am loving using Overcast, it's so much simpler and a cleaner experience.

The remedy is to choose Oldest to Newest. The Play and View Order cannot be different with this version. To autoplay the Episodes within a Station in sequence, open the Station on the Library page, click on the top Episode, then click Play. Note in the Station Settings you can sort its Episodes from Oldest to Newest, the reverse or manually.

Most of us have several Shows within a Station. I have 83 Shows distributed amongst 4 Stations.

I solved my problems with the iOS 11 Podcast app. I switched to Overcast. Overcast is actually designed by someone who uses podcasts on a daily basis.

Obviously no one at Apple can actually design anything useful nowadays.

I've been using Overcast - it's great and free! I'd recommend this app until Apple can resolve this issue with their podcast app.

at www.apple.com/feedback perhaps Apple will re-add it. The iOS 11 Podcasts version only permits autoplay within a Station.

I have installed PodCruncher and it works as advertised. It was hard to find for the iPad, as it is under the iPhone apps.

Thanks, I've tried it, but it doesn't resolve the problem. That appears to control what the app downloads when the podcast feed updates. The problem is that if the feed updates, but you haven't downloaded the new episode yet, then the new episode will still appear in the station and the app will stop playing and display an error message when it gets to that episode.

I'm trying Overcast. So far it's working much better.

I haven’t noticed ads on Overcast nor have I provided a credit card or paid anything. I use my iPod touch and it works perfectly. But to each their own.

Wanted to post a quick update. This seems to have been resolved with apples previous update, my podcasts are now auto playing. Hope this is the case for everyone else on this thread.

I’ve noticed autoplay within a Station will stop if the next episode is not downloaded too, if you are on mobile data. It won’t just stream Be sure to state that glitch in www.apple.com/feedback

I put Refresh Every to Manually in iPhone>Settings>Podcasts, then Refresh & Download before leaving a WiFi or strong mobile data area to avoid a halting problem.
