Hello Kylebull85.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If I'm understanding correctly, you are having trouble sending videos to your wife's Android phone. I will be happy to help.
Check out the following steps to see if it helps from our article: If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Try these steps first
- Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Check your network connection. To send a message as iMessage or MMS, you need a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. To send an SMS message, you need to have a cellular network connection. If you turn on Wi-Fi Calling, you can send SMS messages over Wi-Fi.
- Check with your carrier to see if the type of message you’re trying to send, like MMS or SMS, is supported.
- If you’re trying to send group MMS messages on an iPhone, go to Settings > Messages and turn on MMS Messaging. If you don't see an option to turn on MMS Messaging or Group Messaging on your iPhone, then your carrier might not support this feature.
- Make sure that you entered the correct phone number or email address for the contact.
Cheers.
As of right now no....
No I’m still unable to send videos to non iPhone users
I’m having the same issue!! It’s so frustrating!
P.S. loving the RicRac lol 😂 #ricracmomforlife
Seriously? How is this a solution?
Yes try opening the message app and select in the camera feature to record from there and hit send... worked for me
Did it erase any of your content, contacts, or personal information on your device?
No It didn't.. just my Wife password and my background picture..Nothing else changed.. it works perfect now.. Im so happy and relived..
I cannot send the videos while connected to WiFi. I believe it’s a software issue.
Resetting the network settings in Settings->General->Reset solved this issue on both my phone (iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2) and my wife's phone (iPhone 8 with iOS 11.1).
HAve u signed out of messages and FaceTime and signed back in? Then go to cellular and put both roaming selections on voice and data? And then off the CDMA at the bottom there?
You can send larger clips to iPhone users on Verizon’s cell network? I wonder what your settings are bcuz Verizon caps out at 1.2MB per MMS text.. a 20-30 sec clip in 1080p is well over 1.2MB
Try to do things to trigger the update. Do you have Verizon too? I have the same carrier settings update as Seabright and my texting works now.
Man... so helpful...
I don’t know what’s worse.. apples POS update, the Android OS, or the recommendations I just read in this thread. What a revelation.. turning my phone off and back on. I’m never working in IT..
iOS 11 cannot sent videos over text to android phones
