If you go to your email, in the top right corner there is an edit button. once you hit that, you can select every piece of email you have and one of the options is to delete.
Thanks, Had already done that but no response.
This fix does work sometimes but is certainly a tedious one for 8,000+
emails
Cheers

How do I delete all emails in iOS 11 on Iphone at once?
In iOS 11.2.5 on an iPad I select inbox then ;
Tap edit
select the first three emails
hold down move ( don’t release )
unselect those three emails ( tap on each one )
release move
your then at your folders area - now approximately 7 rows down tap TRASH
I did that supposed “trick” with the “move” and “mark all” buttons to delete my 10,000 emails and it’s worked-
Until I picked up my phone an hour later and ....,,
They’re baaack! Ugh. What now? Any ideas?
Had the same issue with my wife's emails and the only way they permanently disappeared was when she got a new iPad. Seems ridiculous that a major IT company can not have a Delete All function. They have seriously lost the plot wiht customer service
It seems that your email is still on your email client's server, which is likely why they're reappearing on your iPhone.
As such, and I'm quoting, "Login to your email provider's website and delete the email messages you want to delete. Make sure they are removed from the trash/delete mail folders as well. The results should sync to your iPhone."

Seriously deleting 3000 emails will take me over an hour at least and I’ve done this every time I got a new iPhone.
If you follow the instructions that myndlis gives (see Oct 3, 2017 3:07 PM), you'll only need to select one random email to delete ALL of your emails.
To be specific, myndlis posted the following:
"It's a glitch and it works!
Open the mailbox you decided to delete, press Edit at the top right corner, select one random email, then press and hold "Move" and while you hold it, unselect the email previously selected. When you release the "Move" button, then you can choose to move all mail to trash or another folder. Voilá!
Regards."
I followed the instructions, and it worked just as it has for other people as well.
The thing is, you might not think that all of your emails have been selected when you start with just one random email. But, if you literally follow each step of the instructions, then ALL of your emails will be deleted at the same time.

The Devs appear to change their minds at every release.
This is not a case of the Devs changing their mind. It has worked this way for every version of iOS since the iPhone first appeared in June, 2007.
And the Devs make ZERO decisions. They implement exactly what they are told to implement, and their orders come from teams of UX designers, Systems Analysts, Marketing, and the whims of the CEO.
This truck used to work but not any more with iOS 11.2.6, apparently. "Trash" is no longer one of the choices to move the selected messages to. Someone at Apple really doesn't want iPad users to batch-delete email messages. Bizarre and annoying.
I tested this trick again, but this time with the updated iOS 11.2.6 software, and it worked for me just fine for two different email accounts. But since in your case "Trash" isn't showing, I wonder if it would show again if you delete just one of your emails to restore it, and then try this trick again.
I'd like to know there's a way to restore "Trash" just in case this happens to me, so if you try this, please let us know if that worked. Thanks.
Indeed, when I deleted one message on one account, the Trash folder became available. On some other accounts, it took a while before the Trash folder showed up, but eventually it did show up. So the trick still works. However, I do wish we didn't have to do this to delete many messages at once.
Thank you for letting us know that you were able to recover your Trash folder. This should help others with the same problem. By the way, I agree with you that it's too bad we have to use this trick to enable mass deletions. Oh well. At least we have this option. Still, for people who don't know, I feel for them.
Thinking aloud here, I have to wonder why Apple doesn't fix this. I mean, surely there must be Apple employees at their office who would like the option to delete all email in their inbox.
On a related matter, of the two different email accounts that I have on my iPhone, one of them has a "Trash" folder in addition to "Trash" on its own. I have no idea why a "Trash" folder is needed; if it's needed. I tried deleting it, but it produced an error message stating I couldn't delete it from the server.
Regarding the paragraph above, I really don't have a question to be answered ... just thinking aloud about it.
As it's been answered before with this same question, but for a quick reference here, in your case you'll need to delete your email on your email server before deleting it on your iPhone or iPod. Otherwise, as you already know, your emails will return as soon as you sync with your email server.
To avoid this extra step for anybody who has the same problem, regularly cleaning out the inbox on your email server should do the trick. If you don't want to delete those emails, just archive them in a folder of your choice.
Sorry to contradict but I deleted all mine from
one of my devices ( iPad) first then emptied the trash. I then checked my iPhone, also deleted and finally my mail server ( I was actually looking for an unsaved email) all gone from there too and none have returned 😊
Exactly. That's not a contradiction at all. Thank you for the confirmation.
So ... for anyone whose emails keep coming back after they've been deleted from an Apple device, the thing to do is to make sure you keep the inbox of your email server clean.
Works like a charm! Thanks for sharing the glitch. I have the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPad Pro running iOS 11.2.6.
Once my nearly 9,000 emails went to the trash, I then went to the trash for each account and the delete all option was available once I selected edit at the top right corner of the screen. Yippee!
