I got the iPhone 8 and with it iOS 11 (11.0.1) and I noticed that I do not have my Facebook events like birthdays etc. in my calendar like before.
On High Sierra I got it working again by going to settings and subscribing to facebook again, but the events don't carry over to my iPhones calendar.
Anyone have some tips on how to get it to sync with Facebook events?

You can add Facebook Events back to your calendar as subscribed calendar by going to the Facebook Events page (full version, not the mobile version) and there's an option in the lower right hand corner. If you have a Mac, it's easiest to do it from there and it can sync to iPhone/iPad.
Removing the old pre-iOS11 Facebook calendar from iPhone/iPad seems to be impossible for now.....
thanks! I found this option on the right hand side of the events page, below birthdays; it is part way down the page, not right at the bottom. I've pasted what it says, below. When you click on either button (upcoming events or birthdays), it prompts you to add these calendars to yours.
You can add your events to Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar. Once you add them, they'll stay updated. Learn More.

I had the same issue with my iPhone 6s Plus until about an hour ago, when I found a website that gives step by step instructions (with photos) on how to fix this. After doing it and refreshing my iCalendar, my upcoming Facebook events showed up immediately!! 😍 I found the link after doing a google search on how to fix it. This was very helpful. My main computer is windows based and following the suggestion of logging into facebook on my computer led me down a path of using outlook and spiraled on from there. This was the quickest method to connect my facebook to my iphone. Thanks,

To remove the pre-iOS11 Facebook calendar you need to go to System Preferences->Facebook and then deselect the Calendar. Viola!

Click on “Upcoming Events” and/or “Birthdays,” and a pop-up will ask if you want to subscribe to that calendar.
