SD card reader not working on high sierra

Yes, I did. Would it recognize anything more when you re-boot with Command+R than it will just in "Disk Utility" on a normal boot?

You should boot using command-R

I did.....Disk Utility does not recognize my SD no matter what I do. I just thought of it that, I could re-format on my iMac.

It works for me too.

I have exactly the same issue, but on a Macbook Pro. I've submitted several bug reports about this - I suggest going to their feedback page so they address this issue...

My issue was on a MacBook Pro....I wish they would fix this bug.

What if mine says "This computer doesn't contain any Apple Internal Memory Card Readers."? It worked before the update...

I have the same problem. Just disconnect SD card and switch off the MacBook.

After reboot you can use SD card reader

You can use Image Capture to get your photos off the card while it's inserted in your camera, connected to your MacBook via USB. Not elegant but it's the next best thing to a card reader.

Mac_slide, How could the upgrade to High Sierra be damaging all these SD card readers?

Does anyone have a real solution?

MBP retina (mid2012) - the system does not see any Card Reader, neither with the card out, nor in. Do you have any suggestions what to do?

After I refreshed the info for the Card Reader with (command+R), the card name appeared in the finder and I was able to transfer the photos.

I needed to Erase my SD card so that the camera would read it after opening it in Finder.
