Absolutely nothing. They asked me to keep a records when the problems occurred, (virtually every day) for a couple of weeks, and then get back to them. This I have done and I will be contacting them again this week., Will post results
I opened a case with Apple, followed below steps which worked for me.
Installed 11.2 yesterday through phone (don’t upgate through phone).
Steps
1. Take a phone backup on computer through iTunes
2. Restore phone (iPhone 8 Plus) through iTunes In desktop. It was approximately 2.75GB
3. One done, setup the phone as a new iPhone. Don’t restore from backup at this point.
4. Once all the phone setup done, restore the backup taken in step 1.
5. All done... earlier my wifi speed was showing ~8mbps. Now it is showing ~40mbps
I hope this will help!!
I just bought the 8 plus tonight. Not less than 2 hours later the WiFi connects, but no data and no symbol in the bar. I have never been so disappointed in a new iPhone. I can't believe Apple still hasn't fixed such a critical issue after nearly 3 months.
Totally happening to me too -- it seems to get stuck most when connecting to a new WIFI connection (airport, in a plane, hotel) or exactly when I need it most. I have few issues when I'm at home on the regular WIFI.
I have the "exact" same problem. This is my second phone and I still have this problem. I'm afraid if I'm going back they are gonna give me a new phone with the same problem again.
Did you get it fixed?

Unfortunately, Apple customer service, Apple Tech and Apple's Geniuses are all going to have to be renamed after recent battery issues with the 6 & 7s and connection problems with the 8s.
I suggest "Apple, Yeah right", "Apple Trump" (it's your fault) and the Idunnos. I still have my original 128K Mac (still working!) 2 Grapes, 3 iPods, 3 iPads, 4 iMacs a notebook, every iteration of iPhone from #1 to 7, but after recent LONG LONG discussions with customer 'service', Tech and the so-called Genuises--plus my s-i-l buying a new iPhone 8 five weeks only to have it replaced by TWO refurbs (her fault because of her house, even though her i-4 always worked), my wife and I have decided to buy new Galaxy 8s.
Apple knows they're having issues but refuses to acknowledge there are problems with wifi connectivity. $100 billion in cash and record profits, and this is our reward?
I have received my 3rd iPhone 8 replacement and problem with WIFI still persist. This time I give up because each time I change the phone it's a big hassle. The people from Apple have no clue what's wrong, they told me that my back up has issues, maybe it's solved when I don't use my back up anymore. That is a ****** solution.
So, I have to live with this problem and hope with the new update it will be fixed or not. Great Apple, paying a ton of money and your product doesn't work properly. Thank you Apple.
Nope tried all this but problem still persists.
Me too!
I have iphone 8 and i am having the same issue!!! Add the battery life too after iOS update. Frustrating!
Same issue here as well. I keep thinking it will get fixed with a software update. Just updated to 11.1, and issue still persists.
You're my hero NoPlebs! This issue has been driving me bananas.
I have the same issue. I had Apple replace my phone with a new one and it’s doing the same thing.
I contacted Apple and they are investigating but no solution so far
My iPhone 8 has been doing that for the last couple of weeks
