disappointed and advice needed

On January 2nd, I contacted applecare about the flickering issue that many MacBook users have been dealing with. I also had a line running across my screen leaving half of the screen darker than the other. Anyway, I called in, a box was sent to me, I sent my computer off and was so excited to see that it took LESS THAN A DAY TO FIX MY COMPUTER, but I was also taken back that it took such a short time, I was worried that my computer wouldn't be fixed when I got it back....

I received it on January 8th.....turned it on, and a few minutes after starting.......THE FLICKERING STARTED......and later on that evening, the wicked line came back...

This morning, I called apple and I have to sent my computer back. What an inconvience!! Is anyone else having this problem with getting the same issue fixed?

What if I send my computer in and I get it back, and its not fixed.....again?

I guess the advice I need is to even send it in or not.....should I just live with the issue, it's obviously not affecting the way my computer runs, its just irritating to the eyes.

Someone, anyone, tell me what you'd do. And, if anyone else is having problems getting this issue fixed, please let me know...

I'm so disappointed, I could cry...

I just got home not too long ago and was finally able to test my computer...

As of right now, everything is going great! The line is gone and so far, no flickering has happened. I've done the things to the computer that I used to be doing when the line appeared or when it started to flicker. I'm really hoping that everything is taken care of, which it seems to have been!

I'm not sure what all they did to the computer because they used "apple language" but....my paperwork says: APP-646-0302 DSPL 13.3 GLOSSY AUO

Does anyone know what this means?

The screen seems a lot brighter too, which I like...

So anyway, as of right now, my computer is fixed....let't hope it stays this way.

Just giving you all an update! Hope everyone else can get their fixed!

All that hoping and wishing helped!

Hi,
sorry to introduce a new topic but I was curious if others were having the same problems and didn't know about it.

the problem isn't the speakers, it is the signal. Even going through my receiver, I have to increase the volume to distortion levels. This is not right and Apple needs to address this.

Dear Abi, I have great empathy for your feelings. I cannot answer your question but I think Apple needs to work much more on the screen quality large and by. I cannot use my iBook G4 without an additional radiation screen protector - my eyes turn vivid red otherwise. I thought that new machines should come with radiation protection build in and I find myself where I have been 13 years ago when I bought my first Mac and IBM notebooks. Your problem sounds like one of dark ages of design. I love Macs but I really think they do too little to improve quality of screens (resolution, radiation, etc).
Maybe we can collect here a list of things that Apple should take care of before they put a new product on the market.

1) Your problem needs to be described by an expert
2) 99% Radiation protection from screen built-in
3) any suggestions anyone?

My buddy (a pack rat like no other) actually has a 1978 apple II. Yes, that's right, and for a joke i asked if we could hook it up. So we did, and Lo! it worked just as good as it did in 1978. Now, I know that modern computers are just a little bit more complicated than the apple II (lol) but hey, my point is that these machines WORK. On the rare occasions that they don't, they get fixed...and fast. Now think about this for a moment...this is a discussion board for issues with macs and apple products. So, acknowledging this, how can an accurate estimate of the %tage of macs that have faults be gleaned from a board that deals mainly with faults?

Your logic is astounding!
