Iphone 7 plus blurry screen when using phone mode

When I try and use my phone normally the screen comes up very blurry, you can see it is the most recent contacts black and red, missed calls, etc, just no way to do anything with the screen. I can use Siri and call that way but the other is not legible at all. Anyone have suggestions?

The restart worked. I turn off my phone every night and the next day the blurry was back. I’m afraid to try the restore. Need Apple to fix this problem with an update or let me go back to a previous IOS version.

I had to help someone with this yesterday. I was working on this remotely, so I wasn't able to see what was going on, but the problem seemed to be caused by a corrupted record in the Recents list - two calls had been combined into one.

We solved it by:

1. Closing all the apps as discussed in Re: Iphone 7 plus blurry screen when using phone mode

2. Powering off the phone and restarting

3. Clearing all the Recents history - see Delete the call history on your iPhone - Apple Support Note that we had to clear all the history - it wasn't possible to just clear the probably corrupt entry as this just recreated the fuzzy screen.

Me again, I'm going to try the new IOS 11.3 to see if it helps. Hope so since it's still happening. I did a soft reboot too and that didn't help.

My problem also - currently on 11.0.2 and this started happening in the past week or so. Nothing out of the ordinary happened with the phone not dropped or apps updated. The blurry phone screen just started happening and can be fixed by a reboot. Problem is I now have to reboot too often to use the phone app on my iPhone. Very annoying.

Will try updating to 11.0.3. Surprised Apple is quite on this.

Thanks for all the replies, I know Apple has to be working on it. Another "quirk" I've found is that when reading text messages and I try to arrow back to my list of recent messages and I click on the top arrow back (to get out of the last message sent and be able to send messages to another person) instead of taking me back to that list my phone rolls backwards several messages on the same person I am just finished texting. So then I either have to roll down to be able to send that person another message or click the arrow button again to get to the list of texts to choose another person. This is also annoying. Doesn't happen all the time but more than half the time.

As I learned from someones post and have posted my experience, the following will get you back on track in about 5 seconds.

This happened to me once and solved it once this way: Double click home. Swipe left/right until phone app is on top. Swipe up to close. Opened phone and it was working normally.

Sure this is a work around but it is simple and quick. Apple will fix it in the next update.

I really want to hear from someone saying "Yes, it worked for me." or that it didn't work.

I called Apple and the person I talked to was not personally aware of this problem. She looked on their system but it wasn't clear to me if others are aware of it. She said that if enough people have this issue they would work on it. My suggestion is that everybody here contact Apple to report the fail. It was quite easy for me to talk to a person there. The button that I clicked said that a someone would call within two minutes. The actual time was about 15 seconds.

I suggested to her that Apple contact the people here that have the problem frequently to get a better idea of what is going on.

The one time that I had the blurry screen was using 11.0.3.

I contacted Apple and the technician said that sometimes the downloads don’t upload properly and it causes problems. She had me go thru ITunes with my phone connected to my computer and re download it. I don’t know if this fixed the problem or not since my phone doesn’t always have the blurry screen but I’m hopeful.
