Yahoo email not working in mail app with iOS 11

I’m having the same issue since updating to the ISO 11 not receiving any yahoo email on iPhone or iPad. Any idea or word when Apple will fix this problem?

Will do. So far everything new and old has loaded. The yahoo app works perfect but i couldn’t get passed the ads.

Yes, it was erratic as well. I checked downrightnow's site late yesterday, and there was no specific time when Yahoo would have their servers up and working properly again. I've not checked today

Same issue on iPhone 7+ and iPad. Tried everything mentioned above to no avail.

All of a sudden last week yahoo started working again with iPhone native email. Maybe it’s fixed. We’ll see.

This fixed it! Delete the yahoo account. Put it back as an “other”. Use the setting as posted above. And be sure and go on the computer yahoo account under user name/security settings and check allowing an “unsecure app to have access”. After set up can go back and change that setting. VERY INTERESTING, this happened after I upgraded wife’s phone to 11.1.1. But it also, at the same time then had the same bad effect on her old iPad running IOS 9, even though no changes were made to the iPad. After fixing as above on the iPhone, the iPad now works as well.

My email started malfunctioning about a week ago so around 1 December. I’m curious if the purchase of Yahoo by Verizon has anything to do with it. Being devils advocate here. It’s seem to start after that acquisition was approved and perhaps there’s been some server changes. I don’t think Verizon would want to fight with Apple but rather maybe changing the addresses of the servers. At any rate, because Verizon also have cell phone service it would be an all parties best interest that they work this out and quickly.

I am having the same issue with Yahoo email, except that I am still on iOS 10.3.3. This started about a week ago. There are many people complaining about this on the Yahoo help community forums, though the moderators are marking the threads as solved despite acknowledging that their "engineers" are working on it. If I delete the Yahoo account in iOS mail settings and set up a new account, it works for a while before invariably failing to download emails again a few hours later. This is very frustrating.

The issues with the Apple iPhone App are making it impossible to use.

Shifting to the Yhooo Mail App. At first glance it is clear it is not very user friendly and lacks features - Single landing page for all accounts, calendar sync- just to name a couple of obvious ones. Have not turned on notifications - I think it would popup a alert on every email. That would be annoying.

But if it works better on the core basic feature - deliver email reliably/timely - that would be the choice.

It is a shame that basic email itself is becoming a problem.
