after upgrade to high Sierra I have a problems with freezing. Previous week freeze two times, when I work with photoshop, now freeze, when have only browser opened, black screen, I must to turn off and turn on computer. Previous version Sierra works great.

I think I found where the issue is. WindowServer on High Sierra seems to leak memory quite fast when Scaled resolutions are used. This is with both internal retina display and external display. Specially with 4K displays. With internal retina and scaled resolution the memory leak seems to be quite moderate and you probably get only one freeze per day. But with attached 4K display WindowServer seems to leak memory as fast as 0.2GB/10min and grows beyond some limit quite fast.
Setting all display resolutions to "default" solves the problem. I guess nobody at Apple QA runs scaled displays.
The problem still exists in 10.13.4. I installed it last night and I've already seen the video artifacting. No hangs yet but since the underlying issue is still there, I assume it's just a matter of time before it also crashes again.
This is honestly just shameful. I'll never trust a major upgrade from Apple again.
I have had the video problem in Safari for the last 2 or 3 OSes. I just use another browser for you tube. I haven't had any system freezes but they have been intermittent anyway. Apple is getting just as bad as Microsoft with buggy software.
One other quick note... I notice that in 10.13.4, Messages no longer resolves a location for my contacts. Worked fine in 10.13.3 and still works as expected in iOS. The map box just shows "Locating..." permanently. Not only never finds them but never seems to stop looking.
It is unlikely the "video artifacting" has anything to do with the system freezes and the system freezes seem to have been fixed by the latest update. That was the subject of the original posting in this thread and was a major problem. I understand your frustration but I wouldn't recommend wanting to go back to OS 9 every time there is a glitch.
I think it's fine that you're reporting something that works but the fact that you have to prevent the computer from sleeping is one clear issue. Apple should fix that. The swipe thing is clearly a bug too.
I think that's the main gripe here. These things shouldn't still be occurring this far into the High Sierra life cycle.
I am running 10.13.4. I don't think there are any LaunchAgents associated with this reference manager in the Library. There is a MS office launchagent and this reference app has a plugin for Word, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.
It may sound strange but updating to Mendeley v1.18 would perhaps solve the problem with this app, but it would also make my MBP unstable again because it needs this non-responding app to become and stay stable. It would be interesting to find out if my 'workaround' (I don't like to call it that way) also works with another non-responding app or any other program that uses 100% of one of the processors.
I'm sad to report that my 2013 (trashcan) Mac Pro is still freezing. It's not freezing nearly as often as it was prior to 10.13.4, but it has not fully gone away.
I was actually right in the middle of running a bunch of very important scripts when the freeze happened.
This is unacceptable. This is really living up to the trashcan name. :/
Same thing here - since the latest update (May 2018) I've been experiencing window freezes on a regular basis. All windows & mouse freezes, then the mouse can move but windows are still frozen. After 15-30 seconds, windows are normal again.
Mine has definitely degraded again to the point where I'm crashing at least daily, sometimes multiple times a day.
Updating to 10.13.5 right now but I'm not holding out any hope it'll make a lick of difference.

10.13.4 Was usable. Occasional crashes. 10.13.5 is nearly nonstop crashes including when the system is not in use. Just in screensaver mode I've come back multiple times to non responsive white screens. Have to hard restart and get the standard crash messages on reboot.
This is just frickin' crazy. How is it possible that a company of this size can't get their act together and make their operating system stable?!!!
I did have the time to downgrade, and it didn’t solve my freezing problem. Take that for what it’s worth. All I’m saying is that the assumption that it’s 100% due to the OS is unfounded.
So there's no way to downgrade the firmware to try to isolate the cause to that?
I am having exactly the same problem. Is Apple in knowledge of this bug? The bug has happened 5 times so far and one time I even lost an unsaved document...
I will think about it. Maybe that's the best option.

I dont think it only applies to Macbook Pro as my iMac 27 has the same issue and apps tend to freeze. I have tried everything including reinstalling High Sierra, all to no avail.
