after upgrade to high Sierra I have a problems with freezing. Previous week freeze two times, when I work with photoshop, now freeze, when have only browser opened, black screen, I must to turn off and turn on computer. Previous version Sierra works great.

I think I found where the issue is. WindowServer on High Sierra seems to leak memory quite fast when Scaled resolutions are used. This is with both internal retina display and external display. Specially with 4K displays. With internal retina and scaled resolution the memory leak seems to be quite moderate and you probably get only one freeze per day. But with attached 4K display WindowServer seems to leak memory as fast as 0.2GB/10min and grows beyond some limit quite fast.
Setting all display resolutions to "default" solves the problem. I guess nobody at Apple QA runs scaled displays.

Unplug your external monitor and in a few moments WindowServer go crazy eating cpu, everything slow down until the black screen of death appears....

The new thing that most likely is responsible for the graphic issues is the new metal.
I don't think it is the file system. This is more of a GPU issue.
Clean install does not work.
Since wiping all my external hdd's and reformatting them as APFS, two things have happened. 1. My late 2015 iMac no longer freezes and B. Everything is much faster. Make of that what you will. 🙂
It's not just Java. I've encountered this with Google Chrome, working in the Finder, Spotify, etc.
*Fingers Crossed*: Went a whole week with 10.13.4 Beta 5 not encountering a freeze.
I had misread it as well. It actually says iMac Pro.
I had to low level format and reinstall via internet recovery Lion ... and upgrade from there ...
I gave up on Apple, Apple support, Apple development QAQC, Apple stock, Apple cider, and *apple*.*
When you say yours has been solid with 12.4, are you not running high Sierra? Specs are the same as your apart from the fact I have D300 graphics cards. I wonder if that's the issue?
