Apple TV 4K audio out of sync

I have the 4K Apple TV hooked up directly to my LG OLED B7 tv. Whenever I play a video whether an iTunes video or Netflix, there is about a 3 second delay between when their lips move and the audio comes out. If I play the audio through my receiver via the optical out on my tv and it is delayed but also stutters. Music through my receiver from the Apple TV is fine though so it’s not some bad connection. Has anyone else had similar issues? I could fix the delay by doing an audio delay adjustment on my tv but one, that shouldn’t be necessary if everything is functioning properly and two, there would still be a stutter when playing audio through the receiver. Any ideas?

I believe I'm "fixed" now. The Atmos adjustment didn't do anything for me (it was forced off, while using optical out anyway).

My experience: I have the C7 TV. Apple TV 4K is connected to the TV, then audio is optical from the TV down to a SONOS Playbar. Impatiently, I downloaded the 04.70.06 update manually and updated the TV by USB. With that update done, I believe I'm in sync now, at Dolby Vision 4K 60hz, with the Av Sync Adjustment set to -1. Prior to this firmware, setting to -5 (the max) was not enough adjustment to get into sync.

Hey all,

Another person having a similar problem, but mine's a bit different than the rest of you.

Running a LG 65E6P (2016 model, not a 2017) connected to a Marantz SR7011. Audio Sync seems good with SDR and HDR, but Dolby Vision is where it comes into play. On 2016 models, 60Hz for Dolby Vision isn't an option. 30Hz works okay, but has some image judder since the source is 24. The issue is, sound is out of sync for 24Hz sources. And seemingly ONLY 24Hz sources in Dolby Vision.

Unfortunately, there are no Atmos settings to change, etc. I'm hoping maybe these 2016 models will get some variant of the firmware 2017 owners are getting, whether it includes Atmos stuff or not, that will help the issue.

It's strange that 24Hz seems like a fix for most people, but for me, it's the only setting causing issues instead.
