High Sierra photo editing slow
I upgraded to High Sierra on a Mac Pro 2015. I notice Photo editing runs slow. Any edits that I make lag for a few seconds before showing up.
MacBook Pro, iOS 11.0.2

My Photos is at present working as it should!!! Here is the pain I went through to get this working:
I will keep checking Photos over the next week and post if it starts acting up again.
Hope that helps - Will send Apple feedback as well.
My situation is very similar. For now, I guess I will retouch in my old CS3 copy of Photoshop.
Same here on a top spec Macbook Pro 15 - 2017 with Radeon 560. RAW Images from Canon and Sony are so dam slow to edit. Thats no fun here.
Hi, how did you solve the problem?
I upgrade HIGH SIERRA too, and I can't work with iphoto, because very very very slow editing....
My photos are not in the cloud, and yet retouching is excrutiatingly slow at times.
Good to know! Do you mind to share which Mac model you have?
Oops! Sorry, 2010.
It seems also to be using a lot of my battery!!!
Has anyone actually CALLED Apple about this? I will, when I have time.
Ages ago... had AppleCare support where we did everything/reinstalling etc. The tech isn't ringing me back now for some reason... nice guy. What else can I do? I might take my iMac into the store.
I totally agree. I keep sending crash notifications, but Apple is doing nothing about this issue.
There was no mention of any fixes in the release notes for 10.13.2?
Same
Retouching one photo on Photo quits for the third time !!!
Still no fix from Apple on this. Looking at the recent news regarding iphones, I wonder if folks with brand new macs are also having this experience with Photos.
Yes read my post. I just bought a brand new Mac, upgrade from 2014. Touch bar retina etc etc got everything possible on it, 4,000 dollar Mac same thing
I have same problem on April 2017 iMac. Two sessions with Customer Service provided no help at all. Apple doesn't acknowledge a problem.
