High Sierra photo editing slow
I upgraded to High Sierra on a Mac Pro 2015. I notice Photo editing runs slow. Any edits that I make lag for a few seconds before showing up.
MacBook Pro, iOS 11.0.2

Same... Photo retouching VERY slow. My library all on top spec 2014 iMac (Fusion drive). Nothing in iCloud. Only happened after High Sierra upgrade - all background processes completed as far as I can tell.
Also, I spent hours on the phone with with an Apple Care senior tech who professed to know nothing of this problem. That's highly doubtful.
Hmm, that sounds like a nice set-up, especially with the 4gb external drive... How did you upgrade to 8gb in ram? That is cool!
Thank you for the information. It's my 2011 Macbook Pro that I was thinking about 😊. I'm wondering if I can stuff more than 16gb of ram to offset the older proccessor speed 😁
Well I have found a way to speed it up agin
i create a new library and chose it as system library with no photos in it
then I start the library with all my raw photos now I got my speed again
Yeah, same with me plus crashes.
Dropbox NOT used for Photos syncing. I use iCloud.
I didn't have dropbox sync with iMac Photos, but I have reinstalled operating system, recovery for photos and Photos still crashed after 50 seconds
Yes, keep up the chatter. Some people say there are improvements but I can't see any. My AppleCare tech doesn't reply to me... 😟
Wise.

Same issue. Contacted Apple Support and they confirmed that this is a know issue, however, I feel they are really taking their time to fix it. Also looking into alternative software.
High Sierra 10.13.4 has been released - install it and see if it resolves this issue

Hi,
I'm also still seeing this issue.
If there was a clear migration path to Adobe LR, I would have already left osx photos.
br,
Ruben
What version of the OS do you have? If you do not have 10.13.4 you should update to it

Does reverting back to old iOS fix the lag problems?
I have the same problem! So annoying... apple fix your problems!
