High GPU diode temp and high fan RPM

Ever since updating to high sierra recently (I know, slow adopter), I noticed increased high fan usage and high gpu diode temperatures when browsing some web pages. io9 pages can push the gpu diode to 95c with associated high fan rpms (2500 rpm). When I check the activity monitor, there's no CPU load over 5 to 10%.

Specifically I'm running:

OS 10.12.6

iMac retina 27" (late 2014)

4Ghz intel core i7

16GB memory

AMD radeon R9 M295X with 4GB

I've reset the pram and SMC (multiple times in a session to make sure it took)

One thing I know for sure, it wasn't operating like this under sierra.

Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated

Thanks RK, but there are no login items in users and groups. I guess the rest are in startup folders, etc.

I'll give it a try but it feels like an issue on what safari is passing on to the GPU. Why would chrome play the same video with a cool GPU while safari pushes the GPU to boiling water ? I wish someone with a similar system could check my numbers.

Regards and I will continue to press on,

Dave

Well, this morning I decided to cancel the appointment, but for some reason I couldn't do it through the web link. I went to chat and they decided to look into it more with me. After some back and forth with screen shots of activity monitor and temp gauge, they moved me to a higher level who called me. We ran a hardware check with everything checking out OK. They have now moved the case into engineering and will get back to me in a few days. The plot deepens...
