iphone 8 poor/sensitive mic during call

Just got a new iPhone 8 (updated to ios 11.0.2) upgraded from iPhone 6. When making a call if not talking directly into the mic the person on the other end cannot hear me (or my voice volume is drastically lower). This occurs when even slightly moving the phone away from my mouth or rotating the phone slightly up or down. My father has the same problem with his iPhone 8, even returned it and got a new one, same problem. Switching to speaker phone solves the problem. Also noting it does not happen all the time and a hard reset can fix it for a bit but then it goes back to the bad behavior.

Has anyone else experienced this?

iPhone 8, iOS 11.0.2

I also have the same problem on my iPhone 8 64GB and on a co workers Iphone 7

Getting a new phone has not helped most of us. It is a software issue involving the microphone. The software issue Movers from the old phone to the new phone via back up I assume .

Yes me too! iPhone 8 Plus I don’t even like calling anyone they constantly telling me that they can’t hear me!! The phone right in my face even!

There is a microphone upgrade available, $250 I heard you have to get an Apple supervisor on the phone.

I’m having this issue with my iPhone 8 as well. It’s so frustrating. I literally have to shout for the caller to hear me, even when i’m in a quiet environment.

I am having the same problem with my IPhone 8. Frequently have to go to speaker for people to understand me. Obviously a serious issue, why is Apple not doing something about it?

Can you please explain that again? Sounds very possibly true about the Wi-Fi being the problem.
