iOS11 notifications disappearing from lock screen

I have changed my message notifications to persistent and it has not fixed this problem! I have even at times watched the text message appear and then just disappear on my home screen for no reason. It isn’t doing it with any other notifications. Is there a fix coming from Apple soon??

I am having the same problem, and it has nothing to do with temp vs persistent view. It is highly annoying because I don’t have time to keep toggling my phone on to check for missed texts, or if I’ve even received a text. APPLE, please address and did quickly.

So after a while do they still disappear because show in history is turned off? Or will they now stay on the screen permanently?

And yes engineers are aware but I was told they have no leads right now on the cause.

I just updated to the new iOS 11 and now having problems with messages disappearing from my lock screen. If Apple doesn't fix this and soon I will switch to Samsung and Android. I've loved Apple but this is super annoying and I can't believe that this hasn't been fixed since October.

Persistent notifications does not fix the issue. Yes I’ve rebooted. Yes I’ve tried the resize from Standard to Zoom thing. Yes it fixes the problem temporarily. Yes I put in a ticket. Yes I’ve reinstalled/reset the phone to factory settings but it happens again. Yes I have the latest OS. Fine I have an iPhone 7 but this problem didn’t start in my 10 YEARS of owning an iPhone until iOS 11.

Engineers can unlock the phone with my face but can’t figure out this issue? Well I guess I‘ll passive-aggressively seethe because I’m NOT buying a %&$#?@!

Add me to the list of people with this problem. And what I love most is the absolute silence from Apple. I'm sure there is some justification for this, similar to their justification for slowing down older phones.

I have this issue also - there is no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes text notifications show on lock screen and stay, sometimes they show and then disappear quickly, and many times they don’t show at all. Why does Apple ignore this??

yeah that was the first app I tried... imessage notifications still disappeared even with nothing but the default apps installed. I really think it's either a faulty handset or a bug in the OS. Apple's only provided solution has been the one you describe, and since it didn't work for me I don't know what else to do. :/ Just keeping "show in history" turned off, as annoying as that is.

This issue has been plaguing me also since the iOS 11 update. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Apple support and completed countless resets, all to no avail. I love my iPhone 6 but if Apple can’t solve this I will be switching to another phone. I was surprised to find so many others with the same problem especially since Apple support let me think it was just me. Wish I had a solution to offer but I shall keep monitoring in the hopes somebody will.

None of these work for this issue, which is that the notification occurs, but does not persist. It happens, but disappears inappropriately from the lock screen without being dismissed. These fixes do not help this.

Omg just read through this entire thread to see if there’s any fix and I can’t believe it’s been almost4 months and nothing. Pathetic by Apple. This is affecting people’s day-to-day lives in a sense. You could miss an important business meeting. A family member being sick. anything.

I have found that it’s only happening on iMessage for me and I’ve only noticed it for one contact. Most of their messages show up and stay but there is the occasional ones that don’t.

I just did an update and this issue persists. My message notifications are disappearing from lock screen. I do not want to turn off show in history because once I unlock my phone, they’re gone. This issue must be fixed (hello Apple people). I’m missing import messages from customers and it’s affecting my business negatively. I need to be able to see message notifications on the lock screen. Fix this issue or I , dare I say, am considering getting an os that works. Android has some great phones now. FIX THIS ISSUE APPLE!!!!!!!

Ok I just watched it happen. I keep my phone plugged into my car charger. I own a pool maintenance business so I do not bring my phone with me into customers houses. I’ve dropped phones in pools before. Anyway I returned to my truck and started it. Saw a notification from my wife appear for a second and disappear. So I unlock my phone and check my messages. There were 2 other people who messages me (customers) Had I not seen my wife’s message notification disappear, I would not have known about my clients messages. This is really annoying and could be affecting my business. This can’t only be happening to me. I can’t keep this phone if this persist.

I took my phone to the Genius Bar with this issue and the employee was so rude and dismissive. He said they’d never replace a phone just for a software defect and how my only hope is they connect me to an engineer and report the problem, in hopes it’ll be fixed in a future update. Once I brought this forum up he said he quote “hates this forum” because none of us are certified to really comment.

That was extremely rude and obviously that individual should not be allowed to communicate with the public! I am so frustrated with Apple right now that I’m checking out other smartphones. I’ve been talking to Apple since October 2017 about this issue and they have made no real effort to solve the problem. Every time I talk to an Apple technician they tell me to do a factory reset. I’ve backed up my phone and done so many factory resets that I’m just sick of this feeble attempt which I’m sure they know won’t work. I’m at the end of my rope. If I do ever find a fix for this I will post the details here. In the meantime, good luck everyone!
