Since the update to High Sierra, a Preference I set in Mail keeps changing itself.
I prefer the Classic Layout which is chosen from Mail > Preferences > Viewing and this takes effect correctly when I set the Preference, but it keeps dropping out every third or fourth launch so Mail reverts to the modern layout. Anybody else seeing this?

No this doesn't work for me. I have to go into Preferences and reset my preferencese
Just to make sure this thread isn't abandoned: I do have the same problem. In my case mail.app forgets its settings in terms of "sounds" to play or not to play "conversation view" etc.

Yes, I have also found that after 24 hours of running with 10.13.2 installed there has so far been no sign of anything changing unexpectedly in Mail. Let's hope that problem has now gone away!
Same here. 10.13.2 seems to have fixed the Mail bug (for now).
With the most latest update it took care of my preference issue. Still can't slide emails to my folders to save
Resetting PRAM always a good idea!! Thank you for suggesting it. So far so good (4 hours).
I have not seen the 10.13.2 update in App Store.
No problem here with moving e-mails to other mailboxes after the 10.13.2 update.
Adding a ME TOO! I also prefer new messages at top and sounds off. So frustrating that it keeps reverting like this! I've added my bug report as well.
*Edit* I don't have the 10.13.2 update either :-(

Working well so far.
