Correct. Now the issue has been solved by WhatsApp team in their latest update.

Did you completely close the App and then restart it after the update ?

This is regarding WhatsApp VoIP calling failure.

Alright guys, I am experiencing the same issue and went to Multiple Verizon stores where I purchased the new iPhone X and no one could help. I asked to replace the phone and they told me that it wasn’t the phone at fault and contact WhatsApp, after me explaining that the calling voip works with the older iPhone 6s and just doesn’t work with this iPhone X. They were dumb founded.

It is very frustrating when you purchase a high end and very expensive device and the retailers can’t and won’t help you with your issue.

Alright after I have let out my frustrations.. now if you are still reading this.. we finally figured out what fixed this issue for us.

Please let me know if this works for you. Follow the steps below:

1. Close whatsapp app

2. Turn off Hearing Aid Compatibility by following below steps

-Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Turn Aid Compatibility

I am in beta 11.1 and I have the same problem. Apple tells me that as I am in beta I have to test via 11.0.3 but I see that the problems persist.

Try reset ur network setting

I have same issue on iOS 11.0.2 and before on iOS 11.0.2 and even the WhatsApp update did not solve problem

You would think WhatsApp would be pushing Apple for a solution as it’s obviously making people move to other message services

One thing I noticed although is that you get the first message notification but if you read it then the next one does come through so it appears the issue is around multiples of notifications but I might be way off mark as well.

Here to a solution soon as whilst I don’t rely on it as life and death I use it a lot

Yes, the same on my iphone 7. Whether we are in beta or not, obviously the problem is always present. Whatsapp will send you a typical response ... The reset will not solve much, other users have tried. Other messaging like viber works perfectly. On the other hand, I also have the problem with facebook messenger. I receive new notifications but when I want to answer, the message does not send itself without I have to open the application.

Hi i am facing the same problem on my 6plus. It is annoying. I found this article helpful. It is not a whats app bug it is an iOS 11 bug. Hopefully they fix it soon. 🙂

I think we have either been told by Apple and/or WhatsApp to do factory reset to clear out the bug that they are both saying is to do with all of us force closing the app

also check the WhatsAppen website that suggests they admit everything and that whilst it appears it’s a iOS 11 bug that WhatsApp are working on a fix through the app as well as hoping Aapple sort in iOS 11.1

i am not sure how you close an app other than force closing and to be honest whilst I know we are now told you don’t have to close apps I prefer too

I do not want to activate app refresh. It has always worked without it. Hope next update will fix it because it is really annoying and it is definitely an ios issue. What I noticed it is that on my iPhone 8 Plus it is not working only with wi-fi, with cellular data everything is ok.

What I think is that the "played" too much with this wi-fi stand by etc functions in ios 11.

Based on what you wrote, I've just tried disabling and re-enabling "Use with Siri" and I saw the option wasn't available. Yesterday I tried sending a message through Siri and it had weirdly asked me to be granted access to WhatsApp. And so now I disabled the Search with Siri or such setting, re-enabled it and Use with Siri showed as an option (which I also toggled on and off). It apparently did not fix the issue...

It seems that the app gets killed very quickly in the background when you use an "intensive" app (for my dying iPhone 6, the camera is already too intense...). This shouldn't disturb background app refresh though so I don't really understand what's the cause...

Been having this issue since Apple released iOS 11. Not one update since then has been able to resolve this issue.

If your phone still under warranty, you can always log case to Apple and get help from them.

Please push them together. If not Apple will not entertain for such issues happen.

Has anyone tried to phone iphone and ask them what's up?
