The little microphone icon has disappeared from my Messages app, rendering me unable to send voice texts when cooking or working in the garage. Is there a way to restore that feature?

The tips here have nothing to do with the question?? Has anyone figured it out? All people have shown is how to re-enable dictation. I know how to do that, which uses the mic and dictates and converts your words into text. I am looking for what happened to the voice messages where you can record a voice message and send it like a tape recording… Anyone? Many thanks.

Why not other smartphones though
My daughter can send me voice message from non iPhone but I can’t reply back. It’s embarrassing to me and should be to Apple too
Enable dictation does not exist for me either.

i cant find the microphone in the iMessage keyboard. I do most of my texting via talking. How can i get the icon back on the keyboard. Thanks!

This was very helpful. I believe it’s s glitch that blocks it and disabling it then re-enabling it brings it back.
