Safari password autofill not working in ios 11

Goto Settings>Safari>AutoFill make [Names and Passwords ] (on)

That’s not the problem the problem is Apple made autofill work manually you have to click on the password or username/Email box and then click the suggested password and click enter whereas before the password and username etc would appear automatically

Unfortunately, this no longer works as of iOS11 though. Safari no longer controls Passwords, it's all done by Password Manager.

Yeah you just need to click on the username or password field and select passwords to the left and pick one or the suggestions above the keyboard to auto fill

You have to turn on javascript

I have both on this is normal behavior Apple took away the automatic auto fill due to security Reasons it was in their 11.3 release notes

Yeah the automatic auto fill still isn’t working you have to manually select the field and click the password drop down

40+ people "have the same problem" and no response from Apple. Not even any way to uninstall and do a fresh install of Safari without reinstalling the entire OS and all subsequent updates which will take forever. Time to switch to Chrome permanently and forget about Safari. Apple's ecosystem getting weaker and weaker and less appealing by the year since Jobs passed. Competition stepping up and getting better every day. Soon, no reason to pay Apple premium price. Heard even the new MacBooks Pro's have way more bugs than ever before. No surprise, if they can't even get Safari and its Autofill to work properly nor address a user's concern here.

Yes i have just discovered this now i was going onto a website use every day to check out about tech and i noticed the password and username field were blank i thought this was weird so i thought maybe the website is having issues so then i tried FB/Twitter and them too arent autofilling my details automatically like before i have to click the username or email bar and do it manually which is really annoying ive noticed this across iOS/ MacOS. It must be a bug in 11.3

This isn’t a bug but normal behaviour they changed it for security reasons apparently some websites were using it for fraud so now it requires the user to manually select it. Yeah it can be annoying but its for security sake

The problem for people wasn’t the requirement to manually click on fields to auto fill, it’s that the new sites that we wanted to save passwords for were no longer being saved. Only the old username and passwords prior to update iOS 11. But now with 11.3 it’s all been solved. New websites are being saved again. They fixed the problem.

Try contacting Apple support because it is a problem probably with your Safari search enegine

After update yesterday to ios 11.3 on iphone i now also have problem, Safari will not autofill passwords even though all settings correct

My problem was solved by turning on “restrictions “ under general settings

I bought a Macbook Pro for the first time Sept. 2017, within 2 days of it arriving it developed a trackpad fault. After a lot of wrangling with Apple and hours on the phone, I received a replacement. I like the product, but I am disappointed, I am experiencing one problem after another it seems. I paid 2100 Euro for my Macbook and the autofill now not working is one of many annoying problems on a 5 month old machine which should not be happening.

Some help from Apple to solve the issue would be nice.
