Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

They WILL address it if you take your broken phones to them.

That's real easy to reproduce. Take your iPhone to an Apple Store and demonstrate the problem.

The whole iOS 11 release is a joke, my phone has become so unstable it is almost unusable. Current issues:

1. Screen hangs and becomes unresponsive - hard reset to fix

2. Sudden call dropping even with full signal bars, phone stationary and full 4G - sometimes it takes a hard reset in order to make calls again.

3. Apps unresponsive and then crash repeatedly - even ones that support the new iOS

4. Phone slows down significantly, this is usually a sign its about to freeze

5. Battery life is horrendous - Leave the house at 7am with 100% at 7:20am it is 73%, by 10:00am its 50% and that is with most things turned off, although I should not have to turn off key features just to get the battery to last

Come on Apple - you need to sort this out now.

What do you mean by "stopped working?"

For example, the buttons will not work to change the volume of the ringer or alerts if the control to do so is not enabled in Settings -> Sounds & Haptics.

What I meant is that they did not do anything. I had found the setting for the ringing, but that did not change anything. Whether I was listening to music, watching a video, whatever, the buttons did nothing. I found out how to fix that though, you have to toggle that ringer setting and then reset your phone. Which is stupid, but at least that fixed one of many issues.

I don't have so vast experience but the most probably thing happening, they are using the main thread to initialize the apps, receive email, the music, the podcast, and that main thread is the one used for the GUI, as result the phone freezes

The only resolution is probably weeks away when apple comes out with a new update that addresses the myriad of bugs introduced by bad programming, lack of adequate regression testing, and terribly sloppy management. This is the worst disaster for Apple in recent history.

Absolutely not. If I had any of those problems, I'd be talking to the resident "Genius" at an Apple Store demanding that my phone be repaired.

Here are the facts at this point I will assume you simply are unable to acknoledge my citations as bona fide or you simply enjoy this sort of back and forth. I would advise others with these problems to contact apple and express your displeasure.

1. From USA Today COT 1, 2017 "iOS 11 killed my battery life. Here's how I finally revived it and you can, too"

2. October 5, 2017 "The analysis from mobile security company Wandera claimed the average battery decay for an iPhone running iOS 10 under constant use is 240 minutes. For devices that have upgraded to iOS 11, the decay time is just 96 minutes."

3. Assuming the same device started with the battery at 100%, this chart shows how long it takes to get to 0% for each version. The current estimate is 240 mins for iOS 10 and 96 mins for iOS 11.

In other words, we can assume the average decay rate for iOS 10 is 0.006958 percent per second and for iOS 11 it’s 0.01739 percent per second.

Sorry but I disagree it is the software update this time and I suspect this is usually the case. I can report to a general resolution to my issues with poor battery performance and bugs - I did a factory reset and re-installed my back up then re-installed my apps. I would say my phone is back to 80% pre iOs 11xx.xx It still has bugs with power use sometimes cutting off at 35% and not opening again till charged for a few minutes. I went to the genius bar they tested the phone and say the hardware is good.

Ill be changing over to a Samsung in the spring so I can use a phone to record my 4 hour bike rides (my iPhone used to be able to but no more). Ive liked Apple but after this episode Ill give Android OS a shot. The Samsung product is better than the iPhone too. Better battery, better price better form factor. Best of luck convincing people this is somehow their fault not Apple's.

Apple now admits slowing older phones with updates. Please to all the people roasting those of us reporting software related problems associated with updates take note. Very frustrating to have these problems but to come to a forum and be berated and disrespected because of what we know is happening. Now at least some justification from Apple themselves. Shame on those of you schilling for the corporate store...
