Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

Before my iPhone SE (6 months old) updated to iOS 11.0.3 overnight I had no issues.

After the update:

- I have had to reset my phone five times already today because it completely froze

- apps crash regularly

- sound was not working on phone calls until I reset twice

- battery is being drained much faster than before

- earbuds remote does not work properly anymore. If I try to pause Spotify, it starts playing a song from my iTunes library instead and volume buttons do not work anymore.

This is the worst update I have ever experienced, as it has transformed my phone from a great tool to a source of constant frustration.

hey ! I have the same issues! I also noticed that turining on the screen when I pick up the phone now works not so good as it used to! sometines it doesn’t work... screen stays black until I unlock the phone:( or shake it more:( and the fingerprint ID sometimes is weirdly slow or doesn’t work too ... I also have iPhone 6S! I was so afraid to do the update... I read Apple does it on purpose - older phones are deteriorating after installing new system so you are forced to buy the latest phone :(

I have been having lots of sudden problems- I have always appreciated updates until .03.

1) my clock disappeared on my screen

2) my home screen often stays sideways

3) I-tunes remains dominate on Bluetooth and even when I go to Spotify in my car the tune menu remains on the iTunes even though the music switches

This is a terrible update, I am constantly turning my phone on and off to clear it and yes ever since the download - so Apple what’s up with this bug fix

Hi William, not sure why you are taking such a high handed approach here.

I have exactly the same issues OP has highlighted, to a very noticable extent. I am using Iphone 7 plus

Prior to software update, there were no issues. Only variable before the performances dipped was the software update.

Software dipping is not a perception issue, my phone hangs twice a day or so and numerous occasions whereby my app simply freezes (pressing home button has no effect whatsoever) at which point phone might become responsive again after 15 seconds or so or I have to simply do a hard reset.

Needless to say, none of these things existed on the same apps that I use before the software update.

Not high handed, but rather I have not had these issues nor have a majority of others.

If you are having these issues, we may need to take steps to diagnose whats going on on your particular device, but the issues are certainly not universal to all.

Apps may of course have issues, especially third party ones that may have incompatibilities with the new OS.

I wrote software for 32 years. There are no workarounds in the myriad of bugs in iOS 11.0.3. Bad code is bad code. Apple needs to rewrite its software from the ground up, and I guarantee there will be some serious changes at Apple because of this unprecedented disaster. It will be a while before we see any kind of fix. Somebody kissed the donkey when they pushed this abortion out simply to coincide with the release of the iPhone 8.

Has anyone gone to the "Genius Bar" at an Apple store with their questions and concerns? I'm experiencing many of the mentioned issues. The Apple store is about an hour away and I don't want to waste more of my time going there if they can't help. Any news on an update to the update to fix these bugs? or a way to revert back to the previous version? Thanks.

Many have done so and have reported on other threads. Some had their iPhones replaced, some had their iPhones repaired, some came away unhappy. You'll never know your own result if you never try. Certainly, you're not accomplishing anything here.
