Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

That frame in Messages is happening to my phone, too. The update is so annoying that I have tried to Erase all content and restore my phone to an old backup in iTunes that is a few months old and it still forces me to upgrade my phone by stating "Hit Home button to Upgrade". My content may be back to months old content, but the version of the operating system continually remains 11.0.3!!

If anyone has an idea how to really revert back to pre-upgrade on iPhone 6S, please help!

Not! I just downloaded the 11.03 update and my phone now is loosing power at a supersonic rate. My phone was fine but nail this so-called update. It has degraded efficiency and eats battery life like M&Ms. Everyone who downloaded this horrible up date will be suing Apple if a fix is not released ASAP. IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT MILLIONS GET READY. Apple do something NOW or you will start loosing customers right and left at a very rapisd rate!

What I meant is that they did not do anything. I had found the setting for the ringing, but that did not change anything. Whether I was listening to music, watching a video, whatever, the buttons did nothing. I found out how to fix that though, you have to toggle that ringer setting and then reset your phone. Which is stupid, but at least that fixed one of many issues.

IPhone 6s filled with problems. Experienced user, settings are fine. Just today I can listen to routine radio and music sources. Volume fine, then low volume or no volume control

Wii-Fi dropping constantly. Phone freezes. The list goes on. Long time Mac and IPhone for years. Google shows these are issues queried by many

Apple obviously aspires to reach Microsft’s level of dysfunctional product software releases.

It takes about 24-48 hours for the iPhone to finish up all the background housekeeping associated with changing over the file system. During that time, yes, your phone will use up battery life much more quickly. If it continues to do that after a couple of days, then we need to look at other things.

In my experience, updates will occasionally change settings in unexpected ways. It's annoying. iOS 11, for example, has changed the settings for the volume buttons for a lot of people.

Well, I checked, but it doesn’t seem to mention that the volume buttons (as well as external means to change the volume, such as Apple earbuds or my car’s stereo system) now also stop whatever audio app is running and start up a random song that is on my phone instead. But perhaps I didn’t look well enough in that little link you posted.

6plus iOS 11, freezing screen, apps crashing all of the afore mentioned,so the numbers are starting to rise William, not millions but they are rising, your snide comments towards a previous Apple consumer are not what I would expect to see,and I would think an apology to just1nc4s3 would be nice, also remember just because you don't see something doesn't mean it's not happening, have a nice day, : )

William, I hope you never work in any customer facing role. I suspect there are MANY more people experiencing the same issue but haven't taken the time or effort to post a problem. Your assumption is actually ridiculous. I am one and the problems have been ongoing for around a month. My issues started immediately after doing an IOS update, maybe a coincidence or unique to my phone but I doubt it. The phone functions but not as well as before the update.

Now I can go back to android after this update. Same bugs as mentioned.

"a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad."

"Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working"

Furthermore: when using apple music app, the mic and the speaker stop working. Gotta restart so I can hear the person calling me and they can hear me.

Please, let us downgrade. Make it as your new update 🙂

Or... there's android with the same **** but for less money!

Never, ever buy cheap Android phones. The experience is painful beyond words. The hardware is almost always under-powered for the software. If you're going to buy an Android phone, spend the money on a good one. Last year's top of the line Samsung or Motorola is usually the best way to do it economically.

Philly_Phan,

Why are you so abrasive? Thousands of people have issues with Apple's latest update. The true number is not known, because not everybody complains in a public forum like this. These people spent more than a thousand dollars on a phone that is fraught with bugs that prevent them from doing things they could before this update. Seriously, show some respect.

I too have experienced massive usability issues in iOS 11.0.3. I too cannot do a single task, open an email, search a webpage, or scroll through a webpage, take a video, etc. etc.... without the phone going back to the lock screen right in the middle of working on the phone.

I am extremely frustrated, I have two phones, both with the same issue. They are constantly going back to the home screen while using the phone.

Yesterday I was taking a video of my daughter's violin recital, and in the middle of the video it stopped and went back to the home screen. I had to unlock the phone and get back to recording the video, but there is a break in between. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, and an iPhone 6. I tried the iPhone 8 and had similar issues, although not as bad, but the iPhone 8 dropped calls which was a deal breaker. This may be my last apple product. This is ridiculous, that a company so large and self aggrandizing cannot get develop a simple update that will not cripple a phone.

Battery life is now 50-60% of what it was before iOS 11.

My phone is a train wreck, and I am looking at going back to Android .... please help! I'm drowning in bugs!
