Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

I tried everything, deleted all my apps, reset network settings, keyboard and dictionary, privacy, reset homescreen layout. Nothing worked. Something is wrong with the upgrade, it corrupts data or has a major bug that causes the device to reset and go to the lock screen. The battery life goes down by nearly 50%. They need to test things properly before releasing updates, because they are breaking working decices.

Finally I backed up my data and did a factory reset about an hour ago, seems to be fine now (has not gone to the lock screen), but I have no data, no apps really so time will tell. It will take a day or two to see if the battery issue is resolved.

I wish I knew what your precise issues were. The crash logs are of course troublesome, but I also have an iPhone 8 + and experience none of the symptoms you cite.

I'm glad you've been in touch with Apple Support, as the crash files from those applications should provide data the engineers can look at to try and figure out why you're experiencing this issue.

I wish I knew what your issue was as well.

I know that I haven't seen any of those issues, nor have those I interact with on a regular basis.

I'm glad you took your phone into the Apple Store, as frankly they are best equipped to capture the kind of data that would reveal patterns to the engineers in Cupertino as to why these issues seem particularly troublesome for some users.

Note that the two biggest reductions in battery life after an iOS upgrade after the first day or two (when Spotlight is rebuilding its indices) are apps that are not compatible with the new OS that are spinning in loops, and as always, use of the phone in an area with two bars or less of cell signal, which causes the radio to operate in full power mode just to keep in contact with the cell tower.

Hi again.

Interestingly, it looks like the hangs/freezes have gone away - although maybe just temporarily, once I offloaded all my pictures from mobile to Lightroom and deleted any pictures from iCloud.

Maybe there are some quirks in the process when library is updated during taking a picture. And maybe this could be related to size of the library somehow. Or combination of using HEIF vs JPEG formats - for some reason some of the images were in HEIF despite choosing compatibility setting in camera settings.

Lots of maybes there but let's see how mobile continues to behave.

Me!

The exact same thing!

I have no idea why Apple still without doing anything about it!

Or at least a pronunciation

Yesterday I called again service, they make me did for fourth time a back up erase the phone, install everything again...

I mean we all know it’s the IOS why they still try to make us believe that is our fault! Making us waste time on resets, hardResets, Backups...

I hope Apple get some of this!

You're bang on the money with the same problems I face. Its pretty much identical for my iphone 5s and 6s. Eventually it gets to a stage where my calls are also effected, so when I make or recieve a call the other person cant hear me and I cant hear them. Once I reboot/hard reset my phone, I can make calls again and use the phone for a bit.

Did you manage to fix it with a restore?

I don't understand your attitude and William k attitude, what's wrong with you guys, the most all the people (all the people) we are having the same issues, crashes, freezes and the most dangerous to me when you restart the iPhone is unlocked, we are not ********, is you want to pretend that the problem doesn't exist is ok, but don't try to convince the people that the problem is not there 😠

I have no clue if you're correct and I have no desire to evaluate your belief. If you're having problems, this type of troubleshooting is a waste of everybody's time. Take your phone to an Apple Store for evaluation and resolution.
