Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

I have an Ipad Pro (12.9). Ever since the 11.0.3 update the touch sensitivity has become unbearable. I have to tap the screen numerous times to open an app. Some Applications I paid for have been rendered useless. Videos and movies

freeze. The volume control no longer appears on the screen to adjust volume. The touch sensitivity is driving me nuts

tapping numerous times to open an app. I am going back to my Android devices. Android tablet now runs rings around

the placemat Ipad.

I am not sure why William and Phliiy_Pham keep on posting rude comments when they do not have anything to contribute. Either They don't understand English or people don't write it properly(which I am sure not is the case). almost everyone on the thread are saying they are facing issues post the iOS update. Some people I know have even got their phone replaced and still facing issues. And let me me tell you its not handful of people there are lot many who have not taken it up on social media (Just google "ios 11 issues")

There are always some bugs with major Software releases but instead of blaming consumers, I would be better if Apple confirms these issues and fix them in upcoming iOS 11.1

Here are couple of things that I have tried.

1) iPhone Freeze or Hang issue.

Reset the "Location & Privacy" settings in Settings>General>Reset>Location and Privacy settings. After this only allow permissions to apps which you think is absolutely essential. This has really helped.

2) Battery Life.

Just put you phone in power saver mode even if it is fully charged. Its not as good as iOS 10 battery life but still good.

3) Music App Widget issue / No voice over calls

Only way is to hard reset the device.

4) Phone not charging.

Disconnect your charger and turn off the phone. Once phone completely turned off, plug-in your charger. You might need to do 2-3 attempts.

I am having this issue on 2 iPhone 7 Plus' and an iPhone 6.

This is NOT limited to the iPhone 6S or 6S Plus.

I've had devices with a full charge at 10pm end up dead by 6AM, with NO discernible use during normal sleeping hours. I would suspect that these issues are due to background processes that just simply don't give up use of the cellular or wifi radios; or both.

Apple needs to address this in an update ASAP, as I have family wanting to know if they can go BACK to iOS 10 at this point (which I know, isn't possible...)

My iPhone 7+ re-springs regularly, and apps crash quite frequently as well. The new files viewer built-into iWork routinely refuses to show my files, requiring that I eject both Numbers/Pages from memory, then reboot (doing only one or the other isn’t sufficient).

Then, while working on a Pages document on my iPad, I’ll frequently get version conflicts caused by my iPhone, even though I didn’t open that document on it in several days.

To make matters worse, every once in a while when I open a document a tiny “Download Error” flashes right before the document opens. It’s very easy to miss and start editing an outdated version of the document. The same occurs when closing a document, with an “Upload Error” message. I have to eject the app from memory for the problem to go away.

But the worst part is it's not even limited to iOS 11. Every few days since upgrading to High Sierra, my 2013 27” iMac suffers display corruption soon followed by a complete system lockup requiring a hardware reboot. The weird thing is if that occurred while playing a video, sound will first continue playing until the buffer is depleted, then the system will hang entirely.

I have never experienced such instability and unreliability with any Apple products. The only thing that came close was iOS 7 on the iPhone 5s, but that was limited to random reboots.

Joining the list of everyone here - in fact, couldn't listen to a voicemail a minute ago -frozen. Can't get Siri to pull up a contact to call in my car as of the update. Horrid battery, constant freezing, volume iffy. Did a soft reset but not fixed. Was really hoping the 11.0.3 would fix all the problems with 0.2 BUT instead they are worse on my 6 Plus. Will try the backup/full-reset but don't have much hope. As far a users reporting - it took me 20 minutes to find this thread here in communities and I finally gave up using the search bar to do it - I think they know the problems but may have taken out a few "keywords" from the Search- Apple, take responsibility and fix this stuff! I want to stay with this phone - have had every iPhone ever made, but may have to bail if they can't produce a clean iOS.

I totally agree with comment made above. This is the first time in my using the iPhone since the very first iPhone that I am completely disappointed with Apple’s lack of attention to a new release, iOS 11, even after three updates it still is not working. FYI, some of us actually do things with our device, unlike your competitor, and that’s why we have been so loyal to Apple.

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately I have done that a number of times.

I finally did a factory reset, erased all data, when I restored from backup same issues.

So I ended up doing a factory reset but did not restore from backup (lost my text messages, call history etc....) but it appears to be working.

I don't know if you realize how you are abrasive in the tone of your responses.

People are already upset with their phones and software updates, no one needs you to state the obvious.

Telling everyone to bring their phone in to the store which many of us have already done is not helpful.

Saying go ahead and go to android ... also not helpful.

Sometimes its best to say nothing, if your suggestions are not helpful.

I went back to apple support and chatted with them again. Got a senior tech and she went over my notes and then basically tested and synced. Used that gathered info to send into engineers at Apple so they might know what's going on. Maybe try that as they have my history and know I went through the steps and also had it looked at by an Apple specialists. Now I just have to wait.

Just discovered that Apple is no longer signing for iOS 10. So even though I made a backup before I updated to iOS 11 I still can't go back to it because Apple won't let me. This is horrible. I'm spreading the word to every person that I see with an iPhone - DO NOT UPDATE TO IOS 11! I've actually resorted to straight out asking people if they have an iPhone so that I can warn them to stay far far away from this update. I can't use my iPhone for anything except playing 1 game now. That's it. (And it crashes at least once every 20 minutes by the way...) This is the worst update I've had on any iPhone I've owned, and I had to suffer through the iPhone 4, so that's really saying something. (Worst iPhone I've ever had.) My iPhone was completely fine up until this update. Now my iPhone feels like it's on fire almost 24/7 even if I have NOTHING running. My battery life is almost nonexistent, not even "low-battery mode" can help with this drain. I now have to resort back to listening to CD's in my car because my bluetooth doesn't work anymore. Well, to be more specific - it works for about 10 seconds but as soon as I hit the play button it says that it's disconnected. It won't play music, nor make phone calls - even though it still shows up on my dash as making a call through the sync system. Please fix this immediately so we can all go back to our daily lives and try to remember why we stuck with Apple, because right now...well, I can't really think of any reason why I stuck with an Apple phone this long.

Why would you do that? IOS-11 is not the cause of your problems. If it was, millions of users would be impacted. Between my family and friends, I have personal knowledge of about a dozen iPhones, all at IOS-11.03 and NONE OF WHOM ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS.

That's really terrible. Exactly what were you told when you took your iPhone to an Apple Store for evaluation and resolution? If you received a brushoff or anything else that did not resolve your issues, did you speak to a manager and demand satisfaction?

Honestly, you've got to be one heck of a lot more patient than I am if you did not take the above actions.
