Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

Multiply every reported issue here times 1000, which would be the number of people who have not complained, but are having issues, and or upgrading or moving away from iOS entirely. Multiply that times the number of discussions, on this board and others. We could get to millions very fast.

So, you're making suppositions that may or may not be valid. I was hoping you had actual data.

Thanks.

Has there been any indication, officially from Apple, that iOS 11 is specifically addressing things like battery life and some of the other weird problems that are being experienced?

I was hopeful that 11.0.1,2,3 were going to at least address battery life, but since there was no specific mention of it in the release notes it clearly didn't address that.

Hoping somebody has some insider info regarding battery at least...

Thanks!

October 27 here. I have had nothing but problems on my phone since this update. It is unbelievable that this update was released without testing it on 2 year old phones. I have a 6s plus, and sure, there are some app crashes, but what matters the most is that the phone frequently has NO VOLUME, the alarms often have NO VOLUME, although the ringer seems to work most of the time it works. I call people, and I can NOT HEAR THEM. Kind of a glitch with a telephone.

The fact this garbage was released and remains unresolved two weeks later, makes me really distrust Apple in the future. I have been nothing but a fan and advocate of this phone until now, but Apple really needs to close house on this one, and stop acting like nothing is WRONG! Support is telling me it's my battery's fault. Are you serious? The battery seems to be fine. I actually have a strong battery, and haven't noticed any issues with it dying quicker, but it may be. It was always a long-lasting battery, except when doing 4k video of course. Even then it was ok.

But my phone, speakerphone, and alarm functions all having screwed up volume issues is not sustainable. Apple has already done all sort of screwups on their desktop and laptop hardware, but I figure the phones were bulletproof. Not any more. Amazon is selling a $150 tablet and I may get a google phone next. I don't need this grief, let alone that garbage app that is Itunes. Apple is really looking to fail here. I'm not buying an X phone or anything else. I want this phone to work for two more years. I paid almost 1k on this sucker. If i have to leave it, I'm leaving Apple, and I"M DONE!

Yes, I have. The alarms only work when the sleep switch is set to on, therefore, I have to be able to have calls come in at any time which may wake me, to have the alarms make any noise. This is the most maddening fail on the update. After that, the speakerphone also does not work ever. On top of that, the phone itself occasionally does not dial, or make any sound when people answer. Good stuff.

I am as frustrated as you. Once I can figure out how to uninstall ios 11 and go back to ios10 I will NEVER install any new updates. Or better yet, dump iphones. Have 2, one personal and one for work. A particular app I use in storing passwords I can't have access to. And no idea on how to get in touch of the developer plus all the problems you listed.

No, apple is not responsible for their products, what a stupid idea

Please try to listen carefully...

The app is not an Apple product. An independent developer created the app to work WITH Apple IOS products.

Not saying it is Apple's fault but the App was working before the ios updates. The app issue is one of many issues with the ios update that folks including myself have.

You would think that during their beta testing they would have tried not to inconvenience their customers or disrupt how they use the phones?

The good thing this has thought me is not to make technology such an integral part of my daily life. Back up some information on paper.

I will look at other options.

It appears that the developer did not upgrade the app to function with IOS-11. Very possibly the developer went belly-up.

I don't have any apps with that issue so I can't personally confirm the following. Others have posted in the forum that, before IOS-11 was formally released, Apple generated messages warning users with apps that needed upgrading. You would have seen this message every time that you opened the app. Again, I can't confirm that that is true.
