High Sierra random display sleep

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro w/ Touchbar to High Sierra, and I'm running the most recent supplemental update. Ever since, the display randomly goes to sleep, but I've not changed any Energy Saver or Screen Saver settings. Prior to the upgrade, and currently, I had a Hot Corner setup to instantly put the display to sleep. In addition, I have the Security setting selected to require a password immediately after sleep or screensaver. Also, the screen saver is set to come on after 30 minutes, and the display is set to turn off after 10 minutes.

I also have the MBP connected to an external HP display, via a USB-C to VGA adapter. In addition, I've started having windows resized after waking from sleep. None of these symptoms occurred prior to the upgrade to 10.13.

Hi, I had the exact same problem till 5 minutes ago!

I was going totally crazy with it since it was happening all the time. Until I discovered this extremely simple post:

The fact is that about any magnet you swipe near the left speaker of your Macbook will put your screen to sleep. Just like if you flipped your screen closed.

For myself, two devices I am wearing all the time were interacting with the screen: First the magnetic clip behind the milanese loop of the Apple Watch I am wearing on my left hand. Second, I also keep the charging case of my Airpods in my left pocket everyday and the back clasp of the case is magnetic. So every time I swiped my hand over the left speaker while tipping and very often when using my Macbook on my knees I was getting mad!

This happens to me when unlocking with password, with TouchID and with Apple Watch. Happens randomly, for instance just locked on my while in a meeting, was actively using my laptop for last 20 minutes.

OT, I appreciate the suggestion. However, it's a corporate laptop, so I won't be able to remove Symantec. It is, however, at the version that supports 10.13.

I do not have Symantec or Norton installed. the only software that was obvious to me that we have in common is Microsoft office suite.

I have this problem also, Mac is going to display sleep randomly. Sometimes after a few min and sometimes just after 10-30 sec after stoped typing or moving crusor.

Same thing is happening to me since I upgraded. Screen randomly goes black even when I'm typing and I need to keep hitting a button to turn it back on, even with power saving mode off

Same issue here, new MBP 13 TB randomly goes to sleep, sometimes few times per hour, sometimes once per day... It happens with or without external display (Dell U2515H). Looks like software issue.

Sadly, it doesn't appear that Apple has addressed this issue in the 10.13.1 release. I upgraded to it this morning, but I'm continuing to experience the random sleep.

Same problem. Macbook Pro 13 with touchbar, connected to dell P2414, office installed, no secure software. Randomly fall asleep within 30sec to 2min, happening after upgrade to high Sierra.

Same issue here after upgrading to High Sierra. Exactly same thing happens to me very often and also one of my friends has the same issue. Any idea how to fix that?

I have been in contact with Apple and they need logs to debug this. I haven't managed to capture anything relevant so please, if anyone has got anything useful, please post here.
