High Sierra Keeps Hanging !!!

I had Sierra, then I downloaded high Sierra 10.13 on October 2017. I did a CLEAN install (not upgrade).

It works, but after using it for about half an hour, opening Safari or other applications, the operating system

hangs.

I can FORCE QUIT the applications, but this does not help. I always have to do a restart. And even a soft restart does not work ! It hangs, I can see the "moving circle" keeps turning without restarting. So I always have to do a hard reset.

Anyone else has this problem ?

Please HELP !!!!

MacBook, macOS High Sierra (10.13)

There have been no previous reports of this kind of behavior with ClamXAV and High Sierra. You should report exactly what you are seeing to the ClamXAV Help Desk.

There is a known conflict that causes an "Error 13" under certain circumstances in ClamXAV that should be fixed by Apple with the release of macOS 10.13.2.

In the mean time, there is a new version of ClamXAV which is currently in testing and your issue might be resolved with that new version.

Go into ClamXAV's preferences -> Advanced, and turn on the option to "Enable beta ClamXAV updates" and click the OK button.

After that, select "Check for ClamXAV updates" from the ClamXAV menu.

When the new version has been installed successfully, go back into preferences and turn off the "beta updates" option.

Please try this, if you have not already.

Go step by step and test.

1. Start up in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH21875?locale=en_US

2. Repair Disk. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22243?locale=en_US

3. Reset NVRAM/PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18761

4. Reset SMC. Choose the method for “On Mac notebooks with non-removable battery”.

If this doesn’t help, please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

http://etresoft.com/etrecheck

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open, select”Open” in the dialog to run it.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste it when you reply.
