11.0.3 update has ruined My iPhone 6s speed. It was super quick and perfect before the install. Now it takes 3-5 seconds to open all apps. Its RIDICULOUS.

Writing texts is painful. You click on the keyboard and there is a huge lag.

It’s honestly as slow now as a phone from 10 years ago. Apple customer service so far have been useless just asking for the same details over and over (what country, what apps are affected, when did I do the update blah blah)

Apple broke my phone with their poorly tested update, yet they’ve issued no software fix. Nice way to respect your millions of customers Apple.

Agree that battery needs to be replaced at some point, however, getting a new battery on your iPhone 6 will not solve slow response that is a function of IOS 11. I know. I got a new Apple OEM battery (60.00). My phone is still not like it used to be on IOS 10. I hate what IOS 11 has done to my performance. I type a text and the letters trail behind.

Don’t think so..

My 6th gen iPod Touch (which is a near functional equivalent to an iPhone 6 without the phone part) is running just fine on iOS 11.2.

It's working just fine with no lags or delays.

Typing on it seems fine, but I use my iPod Touch 6 more for media consumption than anything else.

Also, use my IPod Touch 6 as a step/health tracker with my Pebble Time smart watch.

I do not do a lot of typing on my IPod Touch 6.

But everything seems to be working fine, to date.

Battery is still healthy.

My IPod Touch 6th gen is, now, nearly 2-1/2 years old!

I am not sure why everyone posting in two iPhone 6/6S threads are having so many major performance issues with iOS 11.

You don't even have an iPhone and you're telling everyone their phone should be running fine on iOS 11? Well it doesn't ... the performance is horrible. This issue is with countless iPhone 6 and 6s users. It isn't a coincidence. The performance dropped substantially after the release of 11 and it hasn't improved with any of the updates. This is not a battery issue, it happened to everyone immediately after installing iOS 11.

Sounds as though it might be time to get the battery checked out and possibly replaced.

My 5s started running slower and doing random shut-downs, even with a full charge. It began doing these after the iOS 10 update, but since I'd had the phone for for 3 years by then, and it's my only phone for the past 2 years, I figured it was time to get clarity on why this was happening, as it was only getting worse with each update. It was driving me bonkers when traveling and needed Google Maps to guide me (btw, I'm still using iOS 10.3.3) and other apps to help find flight info, restaurants, etc.. I finally took my iPhone to my local Apple store in June of this year.

The tech I saw ran a diagnostic on my phone. One of the diagnostics showed how many charging cycles I'd done and that I only had 63% of battery usefulness/capacity left, even when fully charged... something I couldn't see myself to know that was the problem. The tech said I could either buy a new iPhone (I'm still considering buying an SE for several reasons, but haven't the cash right now) or replace the battery. The battery replacement would be $79 + sales tax and the Apple store could do it right then and there. I decided to investigate it a bit at home and learned an indy shop would likely charge about half what Apple does. So, I called 4 indy repair shops. The shop I went with charged me $32 + sales tax. The most expensive indy shop wanted $48 + sales tax. I could have bought all the necessary parts on Ebay and done it myself, but I was too worried of causing damage to my phone, because my eyesight isn't that great anymore. So, for the extra $10 or $20 dollars I paid, I figured it was worth sitting in the indy shop's waiting room for an hour (I actually went for a walk instead since it was gorgeous day) and letting someone more skilled than I do it for me. SO worth it! Having a new battery totally solved the slowness and random shut-down issues I was experiencing.

I haven't updated to iOS 11.x because I haven't got enough room in my iCloud storage account, and I can't afford to be without a phone, in case I run into any problems.

I also run a VPN on my phone to prevent snooping, etc. too. Yes, it eats up battery charge when it's running, but replacing the battery is much cheaper than buying a new phone.

Totally agree - Having Identical problems with I-phone 6 and now Apple are admitting they've done it deliberately.

Clearly this is a massive error on their part as they're back pedalling as fast as they can now and offering cheap battery upgrades etc.

Why don't they just produce another upgrade with the 'Slow Down Older I-phones' feature removed but give the option instead for 'Low Power Mode' to come into action at a higher percentage (eg 30, 40, 50%) etc if that's what the user wants.

Totally unacceptable and surely this cannot be legal?

My IPhone 6 has been extremely slow as well. Heard that Apple was trying to conserve battery life.... better explanation would be that they are trying to sell more new phones. If this doesn’t get fixed, I may have to go away from IPhones. I have had them since the beginning, but selling a product working one way and then switching it later to make it so slow that it is horrible to use is complete BS.....

It’s pretty obvious that Apple isn’t too concerned with fixing the speeds on their older models. If this is the case it doesn’t really make sense to ever buy Apple because you know it’s life-span ends when a new model comes out.

I am up to date with the latest version 11.2.5 and my 6s runs so slow. It’s pathetic. I shouldn’t have to “delete apps, photos, etc.” to make my phone as fast as it was before updating.

Everything is delayed. If I want to text I have to wait. Opening apps or doing anything on my phone is slow. My wife has the same problem.

If Apple’s goal is to force users to upgrade to the newest fastest model it’s not going to work. I can tell you right now, as much as I like iphone, if Apple doesn’t fix this issue I’ll be upgrading to a Galaxy.

My text messages appear out of order too! Seriously Apple?!
