iOS 11.x Cellular Data usage

Hello,

I'm currently using iOS 11.0.3, and am still having issues with turning on/off Cellular data, and concerns over the amount of data being used by System Services which I have supposedly turned off - such as Siri.

The Cellular data toggle in this version of iOS doesn't respond for a few seconds (so you can press it, nothing happens, so you press it again, and then it looks as if nothing has happened). I suspect the issue rests with the updating of the icons for the apps using cellular data below the toggle.... (just a thought)

More concerning, as this one impacts the cost of my Cellular Providers data usage plan. Over the space 30 minutes away from WiFi :

Time & Location - 2.3 MB

DNS Services - 1.6 MB

iTunes Accounts - 1.5 MB

Push Notifications - 751 KB

Mapping Services - 487 KB

Documents & Sync - 304 KB

General - 175 KB

Messaging Services 112 KB

Siri 97.7 KB

iTunes Media Services 93.9 KB

Cellular Services 55.8 KB

Game Center 42.9 KB

Software Updates 36.1 KB

Diagnostics 23.3 KB

Accessibility 6.7 KB

Networking 0.2 KB

This is over the space of 30 minutes.

I have Location Services enabled, so I guess that accounts for Time & Location - but 2.3 MB ?

iTunes Accounts & iTunes Media Services - as far as I know, I use neither upon my phone. (I have "use Cellular Data" switched off under iTunes & App Stores.

Siri - I have that apparently switched off, so why is it active ?

Game Center - I wasn't playing any games - so what's it doing ?

Documents & Sync ? I guess this is iCloud - but I've got no updates to sync, and I was apparently only using Notes for iCloud, but now see "Game Center" and "Find My iPhone" as setup to use iCloud.

So over such a short space of time, it seems to me that this version of iOS is in overdrive sending data to & fro to Apple... why and how can I stop it ?

Why does my phone need to transmit all of this data ALL OF THE TIME?!? I really have an issue with this. It would be different if it was a single app that was being a data hog and I could just delete the app or wait for a new update. But this is the system services from apple. And I can’t delete those. I’d really appreciate it if apple did something. I’m pretty sure it’s not just my phone.

I've now done the full erase, and restore. However the same issues persist. What to do ?

One thing that's missing is a iPhone "Task Manager" / "ps" application to show what's actually running. I suspect that some applications, even though they are reportedly closed, still run in the background and can consume valuable bandwidth (such as I have seen occurring on my iPhone's connection to my Internet Router)

I have similar issue. Appears that when GPS is being used and Cellular Data is enabled, Time and Location uses an excessive amount of Cellular Data. When Cellular Data is disabled, GPS apps, with downloaded maps, still function OK even without Time and Location. Talked to AT&T but they did not resolve the issue. I will talk to them again tomorrow. I guess I need to turn off Cellular Data when using a GPS app to prevent Time and Location from running up my data. Jury is still out on this.
